https://pagetwo.completecolorado.com/2022/09/29/broomfield-poised-to-pass-numerous-gun-rights-restrictions-despite-near-certainty-of-lawsuits/
I read about the first meeting and didn't post about it.
This article describes the the anti-gun city council and its ties to Moms Demand action.
They know they will be sued over the legislation and don't care, vowing to take it to the Supreme Court.
Broomfield residents, they are taking away your rights and recklessly spending your tax money, all in their pursuit of "social change".
"Mayor Guyleen Castriotta, Councilwoman Heidi Henkel, and Cori Shaff, wife of Councilman Deven Shaff co-authored a paper (https://www.ncda.org/aws/NCDA/pt/sd/news_article/197658/_PARENT/CC_layout_details/false) with Mom?s Demand Action Northern Region Director Lacey McGinty titled: ?Social change starts with you.?
The paper outlines the trio?s plans for social change in their community, including gun control. McGinty was also Henkel?s paid field director during her campaign for city council."
Broomfield should just join back into Boulder county.

To be accurate, this was a working session and no bans were voted on or enacted. The lawyers were told to write the bans and bring them to future meeting.
They will enact bans in the future(IMO) but not at this meeting as title states.

Though the rate is slower than I expected, this will continue to spread, as most local Metro area mayors and city councils are leftist Karens.
The patronizing stupidity shown at these sessions is nauseating.
I understand insurance covering an entity for unexpected, unplanned legal expenses, but why would insurance cover them doing something that will immediately result in legal challenge?

Yeah, but that would have ruined the alliteration.

Job security for lawyers.

Once again, sad to see how far CO has fallen.
Then again with more people moving here, and other states. It's going to be a tough fight, nationwide.
I went into Murdock’s today and was asked to see my ID to check my zip code.
Was told it was to make sure that I didn’t live in any of the restricted “No Sale” areas of boulder and surrounding areas.

22 lr subsonic
Only 100 rounds
Would they have sold it to you with a Boulder/Superior/Louisville/Lafayette address?
There is no theoretical restrictions on ammo sales, even in Boulder city limits, for over 21. Ross at Gunsport sure moves enough of it.

I didn’t look into it much further, it’s what the cashier said.

Fair enough. Definitely worth investigation for those of us with such scarlet letter addresses.

Sounds like you should just tell them you don?t have an ID and tell them how you feel you are being discriminated against and racially profiled by them requesting to see your ID. Probably won?t help with your purchase but watching them piss themselves as they scramble to figure out how to handle the situation should be fun.

If you live in Boulder, you can't purchase ammo?

People in Boulder can purchase ammo, and do so everyday at Gunsport IN BOULDER. How dealers outside Boulder decide to self-interpret "compliance" with supposed laws is open for discussion.
It might be the store manger and staff’s policy since certain groups are making up rules they think should be in place. Right or wrong

Murdochs can set any policy they want and we can politely insist on speaking to management for an explanation.
The implication that they will refuse sale to people that live in certain areas where no actual restrictions exist is dishonest and implies an agenda.
Westminster or Longmont store?

None taken.
I just came to a realization that this state is what it is now. There is no middle of the road. It?s what ever they think should be done based on feelings and opinions.
Westminster Store
I would have just left without paying and leaving everything at the register.
Fvck these compliant stores and thier woke agendas.
One reason Dicks won't see a penny from me.

Call or send an email asking what their policy is regarding ammo.
They likely are doing it to avoid problems with the city and county of Boulder, rather than some altruistic reason.

I just sent an email-
I was in the store in Westminster, CO recently and was asked to show my ID. I was told that your stores will not sell ammo to anyone with a Boulder, CO zip code.
Boulder does not have any restrictions on ammo purchasing or sales, so I am wondering if this is a corporate policy or something enacted by the individual store.
I look forward to hearing an explanation about this unusual situation.
Thanks for your time,
Eddie
I doubt they will even look at it, let alone answer it with anything other than a form letter.

Thank you for contacting Murdoch's. We are getting this information over to the team. The information you where given was incorrect. We are making sure this does not happen again. Thank you for letting us know.
Murdoch's Ranch and Home Supply
So it would seem someone in the store made the decision, not corporate.

FYI- Just got off the phone with the Westminster Murdochs. Based on litigation threats and corp legal advisement, they are limiting sales of 11-15 round mags and firearms with "assault features" to residents of areas with recent local laws. Ammo is NOT part of the limitations. Not sure if they would sell something like a standard Beretta 92 or G19, just without the mags...
I could wrap my head around 5.56 ammo... but not 22 LR... that makes no logical sense.

The employees are not highly paid so they probably just half assed listened in the morning meeting. Then probably came up with I’ll just not sell anything to someone in that zip code just to cya.
