I received an email advertisement from an online retailer. Should I care about credit card tracking? Do you care?

For some items; yes - tied directly to your bank account turns the card if I am not mistaken into a dept card.
Too bad there is no such thing as a good rechargeable credit card without tracking info attached.
Was it Visa or MasterCard that would track charges from such places as sports stores or gun stores. If they track that and give it to others; they track everything.
All you have to do is go online and check past buying history.

There is currently no specific merchant code assigned (yet) for gun/ammo sellers, but Amalgamated Bank and the evil Dems that spearheaded this garbage got their application for new MCC (merchant category code) approved.
Currently it's only "5999: Miscellaneous retail stores" or "5941: Sporting Goods Stores."
Visa/MC/and Amex have all pushed back on this previously as an invasion of privacy, but it looks like it's coming regardless.
There is no, Credit Card Tracking. This thing seems like SPAM.
Your credit card transactions online, are governed by multiple standards, and are generally safe, when on a safe website. Always look to make sure the website you are on is secured by an https:// prefix.
Your purchases being reported are a whole nother deal, see brutal's post above.

Doesn't matter imo. Atf already knows, see numerous videos of agents showing up at people's house asking to see if buyer has certain items on the agents list.
If I remember there were a few stories about having companies that make gun holsters report all sales with addresses ... just because.
I do think that the link was SPAM for getting that specific credit card debit card so there is that.
Now if I bought something via Gun Genie which allows you to connect to a gun distributor to your local FFL for a sale sort of know what was bought.
So there are more than one tracking method in play. The credit card, the company you bought the good, e-mails from an online order, even the shipping company that has the store you bought and the address that it was delivered.
