I know most on here don't do Twitter, but I for one am loving the meltdown. Quick recap, Elon Musk recently purchased Twitter, and effective today is firing something like half the company (~3.7k individuals is the number floating around).

The best thing about the whole sale is Potato's people getting fact checked over the Social Security pay increase and having to delete their own tweet.

I'd like to see him move the company to Rock Springs, Wyoming as a big FU to the silicon valley establishment and the various California governments.

I hope Elon is sincere and not part of an agenda to get America ?Germanied? but for now, it?s entertaining.

One claim that was going around was that Twitter was violating the law about not providing enough warning for the fired employees. Well, about that...

3 months severance. That's how you clean house quickly so they can't f things up in the meantime.
Someone should have him do the same with the fed gov.

That's pretty decent. I think the bars in San Fran are gonna have a good Friday night.

I like the part about how "you are still an employee, so you must still adhere to company policy". Excellent...

Paul P. Has bad timing! If he waited a week and was able to ?keep his hammer in the tool box? just a little longer.

There is the provision in the law for what is called an "unconscionable contract". That means the company policy is illegal. Elon does not make his own laws. I'd be real careful how you terminate an employee.
"If a contract is unfair or oppressive to one party in a way that suggests abuses during its formation, a court may find it unconscionable and refuse to enforce it. A contract is most likely to be found unconscionable if both unfair bargaining and unfair substantive terms are shown."

You can be assured that Musk’s legal team is well aware of any pitfalls to his separations. Why do you think he severances them so deeply?

Not directed at you, but the twitters who are now unemployed. ...
They knew months ago their jobs were on the line. Throw in all the WE'RE LEAVING, WE'RE NOT WORKING FOR A RACIST ( which i find funny) as they're now triggered by an african- American) WE'RE NOT GOING TO STAY , ETC, ETC ETC. Too fucking bad. They're gone. Severance package till 2/23?? Now they filed a class action suit ??
As for this tidbit
"If a contract is unfair or oppressive to one party in a way that suggests abuses during its formation,
ANY new business dumps dead wood. Where was the outrage. when disney dismissed hundreds of employees? Oh that's right different political agenda.

I wonder how many laid off Twitter employees had to make that last drive in a Tesla?[LOL]
Hmm, they are considered still employees - so they just have received an extended vacation and the required 60 day notification of major layoff requirements.
