I just shot my 308 Remington 700 suppressed for the first time and i see a pretty big shift of POI.
Not my best shooting, granted, but consistent enough to see a pattern: with the can attached, at 100 yds, I am seeing about 6 MOA up and about 1 MOA left.
Sounds like a lot, especially from a 700 SPS Tactical 20" heavy-ish barrel.
Your thoughts?

Direct thread can? Or does it use a separate mount?

Is the POI shift repeatable?

It is: I alternated shots between suppressed and unsuppressed and they grouped just fine.

I guess I can just zero for suppressed and call it a day, but it sure sounds like a lot, and I don't see such a large shift with my 20" AR (govt barrel, same kind of muzzle device).

I must wonder whether this is somewhat in the realm of possibility or if something is off in the way the barrel was threaded.

What?s the barrel profile? And is the can new?

The can is new, got out of Jail 7/12/22.
Barrel profile is OEM 700 SPS tactical, not quite a bull barrel, but definitely heavy.

That seems like a lot to me. I have a Gemtech One and use quick detach and direct thread depending on the rifle I'm shooting. I haven't seen any noticable change in POI.

Factory threaded? **Nevermind** Saw your other thread.

Whisper pickles can actually increase velocity 5 fps all the way to 30 fsp (there is a guy that writes for TFB that did a test on it Suppressors affecting velocity -The Firearm Blog (https://www.thefirearmblog.com/blog/2015/11/16/suppressors-affecting-velocity/) ), all of that plays with POI shift.

6 MOA seems a little excessive at 100 yards though but I am no expert, depends on the Whisper Pickle design etc. you can always reach out to the mfg of the can and ask what they think.

I shoot 99.9% of the time with a can on so always zero using it, only take it off for function test without the whisper pickle.
