Blown In Attic Insulation

Any recommendations for a contractor that can do some blown-in attic insulation?

I can't recommend any but I can say that you need to pop your head up in the attic after they are done and make sure they covered everything. I work construction and I cut a hole in a clients ceiling in their kitchen to install a speaker and nothing fell out of the hole. The contractor that did the blow in "missed" half the attic.

Spec7 did the spray foam and batts in our house and garage last year.
I was able to review it all before the drywall went up.
They did a good job.

Kinda but not really. The studs will still transfer noise, especially low frequencies. If the guy below or next to you has a soundbar screwed to the wall, it's coming through regardless.

Spray in foam works better than cellulose and open cell foam is what studios use to absorb sound waves.

An effective way that some theater installers use is to build another insulated wall in front of the first with a gap between them filled with rigid foam (EPS) insulation. Obviously that too expensive for most of us.

If you have the time, it's a really easy job. Rent a blower from your local home improvement warehouse. It's a lot less messy than you would expect. A buddy and I bought 20 bundles so the blower rental was free for 24 hours.
