Would like to know,

Is there any reason why I can't use lead .45acp bullets for a .45colt Blackhawk.

The bullets are Missouri 230gr. RN, 18 Brrinell, size.452.

I have not slugged the barrel, Aren't .45 colt's .454, would that cause things to lead up.

They would be used for general shooting.

Thanks,

Moon

With a Blackhawk, using .452 bullets you will be fine.

The biggest difference between the average semi auto bullet and revo bullet is the crimping grove.

Put a decent crimp on there and go shooting.

Sounds good.

Thanks Hoser.

Although shooting .451" jacketed and cast .452" bullets (45ACP) won't hurt anything, you may get better accuracy in some 45LC by using .452-.454" to best batch the Long Colt's throat.

In the Ruger you'll find that the bore is .451" and bullets with a diameter from .452-.453" will be more accurate than the bullets in .451".
