I called Disney when this email came my way as a subscriber. I had a really nice chat with a customer service rep, he thought it was silly as well and driven by marketing. Obviously he knew I was male by the call, I have bigger issues to worry about though I think it's stupid as well.
I like having the service to have some fun stuff to watch when the grandkids come over. They're in to the original Star Wars-even the 9 & 5 yr old think the prequels/sequels suck-maybe I've influenced them a little LOL. I am enjoying "Limitless" with Chris Hemsworth also.

So they can figure out if your worth grooming into a pedophile.
From the site ‘ and you may elect “Prefer not to say” in lieu of an identification.’
LOL, at least they support gender fluidity.
"Can I change my gender after I sign up?
You can change the gender on a profile at any time by visiting your Profile settings using a web browser or the mobile app."
Yet another reason not to fund the Commies at Vanguard and Black Rock.
Yeah, any time I’m asked to enter gender or anything else for a survey or any kind of service like this I put something different in there along with a random age and whatever else. They use this info to collect stats that they can then either sell to other marketing companies or use themselves. By using random info it screws their whole system. If everyone did this the whole practice would go away as the information they gather would be useless.

Any time I'm asked gender related question I use my standard answer " black,Jewish, lesbian ". Always raises eyebrows if in person [ROFL2][ROFL3]

That’s great, stolen! Reminds me of the church scene in the first “Kingsman” movie.

Why is anyone spending money with Disney at all? I won’t support a bunch of communist groomers. There is much more wholesome stuff for the grandkids to watch.

No kidding. Fawn memories of Disney are but a distant memory. This LGBTQ crap has gone too far.

I have the Disney movies I want on DVD or Blu-ray already (except for "Song of the South" but I managed to get a 1080p file of it). No need for anything else on their streaming service although I admit the commercials for "Limitless" do seem interesting. Chapek struck me as a buffoon but Iger was the one who let the woke idiocy get out of hand. I'll re-evaluate whether I want to pay for anything related to Disney, Marvel, or Lucasfilm after they have new management and I have a chance to see what that new management is like.
Eh, we have Disney for the kids, specifically to watch the marvel movies. We’re chewing through all 35 or so in order.
It made me enter my gender this morning. Gave me the option to not specify. Seems like a non issue to me.
To be clear, I’m no fan of Disney and their crap. This specific issue seems overblown to me. Lots and lots of organizations ask your gender.
The Overton window has been moved.

Splash Mountain is being shut down.
"I've felt, as long as I've been CEO, that 'Song of the South' was - even with a disclaimer -just not appropriate in today's world," Disney CEO Bob Iger said in a March 2020 shareholders meeting.
"The new concept is inclusive - one that all of our guests can connect with and be inspired by, and it speaks to the diversity of the millions of people who visit our parks each year."
Yay! Inclusivity is what I look for in an amusement park ride.
I saw this thread and was curious what the hubbub was all about, I have had Disney+ since it launched but only because of the Marvel / Star wars side of things.
Disney+ is not the only one that asks those questions, other streaming services including GOOGLE asks those questions, but you do know you can select "Decline to answer" ?

Looks like they are shutting down Splash Mountain, too.

Really old news. They've been wanting to do that for years. In fact, Walt was advised to NOT open that particular ride when he came up with it. Disney has been trying to make "Song of the South" disappear (in the US anyway) since Michael Eisner was CEO.
