Would 2 3/4 chambering make a 12g more difficult to sell?

I think the standard these days is 3" chambering with many shotguns chambered for 3 1/2".

I inherited an Ithaca 37 when my dad died 2 years ago. I'm thinking of selling it as I already have two shotguns I don't use, don't need a 3rd. But I'm wondering if a potential buyer would be put off by the fact that it can't handle anything more than 2 3/4".

I would bet that 99.9% of all 12 ga rounds fired are 2 3/4" Being chambered for 23/4" would not bother me a bit.

2 3/4 is all you can shoot at most trap/skeet/sporting clay ranges. It is also all that is needed for Upland Birds. 3 and 3 1/2 are typically waterfowl shells (and some Turkey). 2 3/4 shells still have over 70% of the overall market.

Ithaca 37s, being one of the most sought after Pump shotguns by aficionados, won't make a lick of difference.

You won't have a problem selling it when you are ready. In this case, size doesn't matter.

I don't really know. I think I had it listed here for $350 a year or so ago and never got any nibbles. I'd have to look around and see what others are getting. I've heard the Ithaca 37 has a good reputation but I don't know what the shotgun market is like. I think I paid $250 for a used shotgun 25 years ago, it seems odd to think that they aren't worth much more than that now.
