Congratulations to my Colorado School of Mines Football Team for a great season! They lost in the Division II National Championship game today, but the fact that an entire team of future engineers and scientists is playing at such a level is just stupid. [Beer]

My brother graduated the School of Mines, I will have to send him this link. :)

Love going into Golden and seeing the Big "M" on Lookout Mountain.

Got to see them play up at Western where my son goes during a family day home game back in Oct.
They put a whoopin’ on the Mountaineers.

Though not uttered as frequently during the winning seasons of the past 20 years, as one of the local sports writers assessed, CSM is home to one of the most brutal student section chants in all of college sports- "That's all right, that's OK, y'all work for us someday." or the shortened "Your players will work for our players." I couldn't tell if I heard it yesterday in McKinney. Sorry if that offends anybody...

I believe that was the game where Mines was down 20-3, but then decided to play. I thought we might get that again yesterday, but it was not to be. Western State finished 7-4, so they are definitely on the up and up.

All sports were intramural quality when I attended. We went to drink and laugh at the constant bloopers.

I was offered a small scholarship to play in the late 90s, but the missing of classes for travel games and practice was a no go. I wasn't going to sacrifice a good opportunity in learning for a go nowhere sports opportunity.

When I lived in Kalifornia, I heard about the excellent Colorado school of mimes. Only mime school I ever heard of, but I guess they have to learn how to apply the makeup right and do what they do.

We were probably at some of the same games. This was the era when CSM played what I called the Nebraska potty-training schools, with the opposing players just hoping to get on the Huskers radar screen for a transfer to Lincoln.

When I was at Fort Campbell HS and my dad was retiring to Security, CO, Widefield HS sent a pamphlet about the school and local colleges with GPA and SAT score requirements. There was a misprint for CSM and it was Colorado School of Mimes. We laughed at the school in KY, but wondered why they required such a high GPS and SAT score.

OUCH!
Hahahaha
I still wonder that of all the schools he could have gone to my son choose Western.
He really enjoys it there and can drive home on long weekends and holidays…….when the Monarch Pass is clear!

Tell him to watch for the speed trap east side bottom of Monarch when headed home for Christmas break. State patrol used to write couple hundred tickets that friday afternoon.
