View Full Version : RIP January 6th committee
Well, today is the last public meeting of the Select Congressional committee on the January 6th insurrection of the Capital Building by the evil Donald Trump and his supporters.
Not sure how the rest of you feel, I voted for the guy, and I think he was screwed in the election but what went down at the Capital was wrong, Trump should have stepped in before it went to hell (or tried too). He had a lot of passionate followers who were fueled up and ready to do anything he 'ordered'. I also believe the Democrats knew what was going to happen, it was like a movie set for them! There are hundreds of questions that were never brought up in this committee, there was no one to raise the questions!
Back to the clown show. Waste of time, big waste of money and a great example of the Left driving a larger wedge between the parties in an attempt to tear this country apart. They had to rush and get this done before the Republicans start their own investigation on their own after the official power shift.
In the end, they voted to refer criminal charges against Trump to the DOJ. Gee! Didn't see that coming!

He did try to step in. He literally told everyone to go home. He told everyone to remain peaceful, and asked for no violence and repeatedly said "we are the party of law and order and to respect the law and men and women in blue.
It's weird that the committee has no interest in investigating why the House Sargent at Arms and the Senate Sargent at Arms both rejected COP Sunds request for additional support on Jan 4th and then just one day later the Mayor sent out a letter informing the DOD that MPD had it under control and under no circumstances should additional federal support be provided unless the District requested it. One day the MPD asked for help, the next day the City notified the feds not to help.
Every agency in the town refused additional support in the days leading up to it.
And then the completely incompetent dipshits coordinating the LE response ended up requesting Guard support anyway that afternoon after they couldn't handle it.
Now that the TV shows are over, maybe it can drop.

It's not over.
Referred to the DOJ for prosecution.
"The referrals include obstruction of an official proceeding, conspiracy to defraud the U.S., making a false statement, and inciting an insurrection, the last of which could disqualify Trump from holding public office in the future."
Yes, I mean that now that it is out of the Political Arm of the Congress, and on to the (supposedly non-political) Judicial, maybe it can drop.

It is, after all, totally made up, just like the "Russian Conspiracy."

How did he try to step in?
He did tell people to stay peaceful, on Twitter, an hour after the first group of idiots entered the Capitol.
Is a tweet going to stop the protestors? They are not wandering around glued to their phones and when he says stop, they stop. That's nonsense- you can't stop a mob with a tweet.
Short of him dangling from a helicopter with a bullhorn, there is no way for him to get any message to the fools kicking through barriers and breaking windows.

What moron is not glued to their phone in today's society. Way too many grown assed men walking around with a phone glued to their puss
I think the whole reason the Left is pushing this kangaroo court is to keep Trump from running again, they fear him.
The Republicans will spend another 2 years and countless tax payers dollars trying to clear him with another Congressional Committee and the whole bunch will continue to pass spending bills to keep the govt running. It gets old.
The Wall Street Journal said the Jan 6th Committee referral of charges against Trump to the DOJ has the same legal impact of an inner-office memo!

...but not to the devout left who will see it as a guilty verdict.

Funny thing is I distinctly remember Glen Beck on his radio show in the weeks leading up to Jan 6th begging and imploring people to not attend the rally or go to the capital. I don't recall him saying where he got his information from but he was tipped off by someone. It seems pretty clear that the deep state coordinated to make sure insufficient law enforcement was at the capital and some number of FBI and (likely) paid provocateurs (like that Ray Epps guy) were in attendance. Pretty clear setup.

I had a guy I knew that attended the Jan 6th deal, he got roped into a social media bubble ran by someone he didn?t know that was pushing bad propaganda out to regular people telling them to drive themselves into DC to protest as if that would somehow undo whatever real or imagined shenanigans went down with the 2020 sham-lections. He left as people started climbing the stairs and going into the actual building as it also coincided with him getting a text telling him National Guard was en route to break up the party.
Excellent points on the Dems lack of response to warnings of bad things to come on Jan. 6th.
Trump offered approval of the deployment of the Nat Guard a day before to Heer Pelosi and it was ignored. From what I understand, the POTUS cannot call out the guard, but he can approve the request if requested by Congress, he was being proactive but the Bi*ch let it slide. The whole thing was a disaster that played right into the Democrats bloody hands. Ready to help out, the MSMedia jumped right in, to document the horrible insurrection.

https://www.newsweek.com/jan-6-committees-referral-unconstitutional-opinion-1768550
Alan Dershowitz writes why the referral is unconstitutional.
"Under our system of separation of powers, the power to prosecute lies exclusively with the executive branch through the justice department. Congress has no authority to refer specific individuals for prosecution. It is beyond the scope of its constitutional authority."

Pelosi and Schumer likely set the whole thing up, between the Serbian mercenaries spearheading the breach and Capitol Police opening gates and doors to basically lead tours. No vandalism, not even graffiti... IIRC a laptop and a podium were stolen, and that's about it. Nobody even took a dump in one of Pelosi's desk drawers.
I guess the Democrats in Congress need to have Our Constitutional rules spelled out in large block print black crayon, on Big Chief tablet paper to understand the concept of a Republic.
It's really sad how these jerks fall in step with this crap. The back slapping and hugs at the end of the 'Hearings' was sickening. Bunch of Jerks with one thing on their mind, and it ain't us folks!
