Would it be possible to get a sticky in this forum for all the different club shoots? Pistol, rifle, clays, sillouettes, Jim Bobs, John Bobs, IDPA, WXYZ, etc.

Something along the format of:

Jim Bob's Range
-Range contact info
-Every Sunday from 4-6 p.m.
-Rifle and pistol
-Descriptor of event (prarie dog, sillouette, speed, tactical, etc)
-Fees/additional info (such as you must be registered or just show up, etc)
-Exterior links (such as rules for all the acrynonms IDPAIPSDCMEWFGERTJ)

I'm a little OCD (CDO, HAHA) and I just can't seem to decipher all the different events at different times and places from intertwining threads, etc. It would be great if there was a central sticky that the mods could update from time to time to see all the stuff that the Colorado area has to offer. I know Hoser does a great job with some of this right now, but can we make it more centralized? I'll even volunteer to put something together if everyone sends me the pertinent information.

Thanks.

And on a side note... is it ok to show up to a match with off the shelf ammo and a stock firearm? I don't know the "etiquette" of such things. People always talk about there premium load and super sniper rifles! lol.

I agree, this would be good for newbies like me who want to get more social with their shooting yet are unfamilliar with all the different threads.

While not completely comprehensive, the schedule over at Popper (http://www.ecouspsa.com/schedule.htm) gives a good amount of info and is a pretty good resource.

Yeah, I'd like to make a club shoot or two! A consolidated place for the announcements would be nice.

Interesting, I'll try to get something together consolidating that soon. Any other links where info may be gleaned?

The forum "club" shoots are about monthly at either the North Site or the South site.

Competitive shooting matches are a completely different animal.

Tom is correct.. Two completely differant amimals..

The club shoot is a chance to meet up with fellow shooters and make noise, BS, and have some fun.. Sometimes we even get the chance to do a cook out..

True, but he mentions both by asking here about various types of shoots and the acronym soup that describes them. I've not had a chance to go to one yet (still a few months to civilization :) ) but it mainly sounds organized only in a meeting time and place. Sounds like just whatever folks want to do, shooting wise.

Tom is correct..

Now that there is definately going to confuse people... NOBODY knows who "Tom" is.

I called his work once while stationed out there. I asked for him by name. Then had a five minute conversation with the guy as he tried to tell me, the AFOSI Superintendent on the base, that "Tom" didn't work there. "So, you are telling me that you've never met Hoser?" "OOOOHHHHH, you are looking for Hoser. I never knew is name was Tom."

There is more info out there. This was a 3 minute search of threads on just this forum.

I know, that's a lot of different threads... This weekend I'll try to sit down and compile as much as I can into one.

When you put all the threads into one big one, the info gets lost in the thread. Then people dont want to read the first 5 pages of the thread, and end up asking a question that had already been answered 3 times.

That is exactly why it is all broken up into different threads.

But if you want to make something up, cool by me.

Yeah... I understand your point. For a guy like me, it's fustrating to have to find all the threads for the relevant info! Especially when I'm not up to par with the search function. Eh, I'll think about it and we'll see what happens.

Here is my input on how I think this would work the best.

Shooting Club:
List of types of events they have
www.link-to-their-site.com (http://www.link-to-their-site.com)

That way you have a list of clubs, types of events, and their site so you can check dates yourself.

EDIT: Nevermind, that's basically this thread. http://www.co-ar15.com/forums/showthread.php?t=4258
