Yes- Making fun of her name, mostly because she has expressed some just amazing theories on things like race relations, LE engagement, etc. She is Denver's own homegrown AOC, and having someone else represent her ward is probably not a bad thing.

She openly and proudly stated and stood by her openly socialist ideas and agenda when she first ran for council. I figured she would have run for a higher level office by now. Perhaps if she loses, that will be her motivation.

Just for the record, I do not reside within the city/county of Denver, much less her ward, so this does not affect me personally... Yet.

I just read Darrell Watson's full campaign website. I don't think he will be the positive change that you're all hoping for.

For instance, this is from his "Climate & Sustainability" sub-page:

A history of environmental and institutional racist policies continues to pollute our air, land and water.

The term "equity" is used all over his website. I have ZERO issues with equality (in fact, I wholeheartedly embrace equality for everyone), but equity is an entirely different creature and the equity training and other exposure I've had to this policy is ultra-biased and limiting to potential positive, less costly, solutions.

While the site makes no mention of "gun violence", reading between the lines about things he does talk about hint that he's not a fan of 2A. Perhaps I'm assigning too much to him based on other liberal policies he did talk about, but he'd be a rare exception to have the values he has and still be pro-2A.

I had no illusions that a potential replacement would be substantively different in policy. I just found her rhetoric to be particularly patronizing, condescending and annoying.
