Dumb crap happening today across the state and country, including our two schools.

Both of my kids are staying in class for several reasons:

- The don't support the moron group think asking to have their rights taken away.
- They are academically inclined.
- They understand that this is the sort of thing where stupid happens.
- It's cold outside.

Just an excuse to skip school again. Hopefully, there are unexcused absences for all who participate. Protest on Saturday.

Useful idiots

50 years ago students marched to affirm their Civil Rights.
Now they march to have them stripped from the very people that keep a roof over their head, feed them, clothe them and in general protect them.

Channel 9 interviewed one of the kids that "organized" the rally. They made it seem like it was his idea, although at the end of the report, they did mention that he had help from Students Demand Action.

Funded by Everytown/ Bloomberg.

COS news13 had to highlight the kids at Air Academy HS that walked out... never mentioning the fact that they are protected by Academy SPs and their firearms.

Aren't we supposed to be protecting our children, versus let them be manipulated by media, social organizers, etc.?

A good summary of our local "useful idiots"...

https://www.dailycamera.com/2023/04/05/boulder-high-school-students-join-state-national-walkout-over-gun-violence/

“We’re protesting state gun rights, because you are able to carry a gun at any age in Colorado, and you are able to buy almost any gun at 18,” said sophomore Benji Archer. “And there are still many seniors in high school that are 18.”

You really don't understand the concept of civil rights, do you? [facepalm]

However, I am happy that out of over 2,000 students at Boulder High, only "dozens" chose to participate in the full aspect of this theater production.

We as a nation spent billions over the last 20 years on questionable conflicts overseas.

We as a nation have spent how much protecting our schools over the last 20 years?

I see the problem.

My daughter and one other were the only ones who stayed in her class (Louisville!). She thinks there should be waiting periods and such but otherwise not anti. Plus she is very grade focused.
My son's is very pro but will use any excuse to skip. He would skip school to protest skipping school.

I would suspect the number of student who actually left class has a breakdown like the following:

~25% = down with the cause

~50% = along for the ride, whatever that may be

~25% = any excuse to get out of class, may have not actually participated in the protest, more likely hitting the smoke pit or pizza joint.
