Since late last night I've had a heaviness on my heart to write and post the following. I just posted it to my Facebook feed but I'd now like to share it with all of you. Perhaps these words can reach someone who needs to hear them. Personally, I can't imagine Heaven being so wonderful if all of those I care about aren't there with me.

Easter - He is Risen
Hallelujah! Hallelujah!

As Christians, many of us believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God who died on the cross for our sins, and accept Him into our hearts. But to believe Him to be the Son of God, we have to believe in a couple of additional events.

We must also acknowledge that not only did Jesus die on the cross for our sins, we must believe that 3 days after His death He rose from the dead (it is said that there were 500 witnesses to His resurrection - including Romans and many of Jesus enemies). Easter is the day we use to celebrate Jesus' resurrection, it is the first of 40 days after Jesus resurrection where He once again walked on the Earth among us. For it is only through the belief that Jesus was able to overcome the power of death itself that we can truly know and accept Jesus as the Son of God, knowing that through our faith in Him can we overcome the power of death as well.

Yet, this is still not all expected of believers. We must additionally believe in Christ's ascension to Heaven. This occurred 40 days after His resurrection.

It is in believing that Christ died on the cross for our sins, 3 days later defeated death and was resurrected, then ascended into Heaven to sit at the right hand of God - believing all of these things - that we truly accept that Jesus is Lord and, through Him, we may have everlasting life.

Happy Easter and thank you Jesus!

Romans 3:23
23 For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.

Isaiah 59:2
2 But your iniquities have separated you from your God; your sins have hidden His face from you, so that He will not hear.

Proverbs 14:12
12 There is a way that seems right to a man, but in the end it leads to death.

2 Peter 3:9
9 The Lord is not slow in keeping His promise, as some understand slowness. He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.

Hebrews 9:22
22 In fact, the Law requires that nearly everything be cleansed with blood, and without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness.

Romans 6:23
23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

1 Timothy 2:3,4
3 This is good, and pleases God our Savior, 4 who wants all men to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth.

1 Peter 2;24
24 He Himself bore our sins in His body on the tree, so that we might die to sin and live for righteousness; by His wounds you have been healed.

Romans 10:9,10
9 ...That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved.
