That’s how I load my assault Glock. I take the safety off my 30 round magazine clip and load the barrel shroud.

What’s sad is that becomes someone’s knowledge base.

Of course the media, in general knows nothing about guns.

However . They along with the d party know a lot about social media. IMO Conway is on the money . One's going to be hard pressed to see reasonable gains by any R come 24, if not a few serious losses

I bought an extended magazine. Now it won't fire. Anyone know a competent gunsmith?

What sort of firearm knowledge would you expect from someone with no working knowledge of how gender even works? I mean if basic biology baffles and confuses you then grasping the functionality of a mechanical device has got to make your brain hurt.

To be fair, MEAWW is a news aggregator based in India that rewrites other articles and posts them as their own.

I read the same article on NPR or CNN or somewhere that was written correctly.

But I agree with the main point that most people are ignorant when it comes to basic firearm knowledge.

Honestly, you can't expect people who don't own guns to get all the technical stuff right. Even reporters. But if you are reporting on something, you ought to at least be trying.

Lets look at this with some logic.

We are seeing "mass shootings".

I am not talking about the broader definition where multiple gangbangers are shot in Chicago on a slow weekend that the anti 2A community uses to inflate the numbers.

I am talking about what worries the key voter, suburban women, that determine the outcome of elections. These are school shootings, mall shootings, church shootings, etc. You know the mass shootings that get headlines. They are very rare. You are much more likely to be killed by a multitude of other rare events than these. But they are random and uncontrolled. That scares people. They want to reduce perceived risk. Notice I say perceived risk.

So, all this reporting on what scares soccer moms has the words "assault weapon", "high capacity magazine", and "AR style rifle" in the reports. It doesnt matter how accurate the reports are. They see a picture of an AR-15 of Sub-2000. To us they look completely different. To them they look the same. Think about how many guys on here can look a retail coach bag and an outlet coach bag and tell the difference (ask a female and they will explain). We simply see purse that was a waste of money because it costs as much as a gun. All they see is a black rifle killing children.

You can see state after state get enough soccer mom votes, and they put in assault weapon bans. (Courts are stepping in so who knows how that will go).

But the reality as I see it, if the mass shootings that upset suburban women don't stop, there will be assault weapon bans. They see an evil black rilfe killing kids. How to solve it (in their minds): get rid of evil black rifles and high capacity magazines.

So a question that needs to be asked... what are REAL ways that these mass shootings can be stopped? If we want to keep our rights, that problem has to be solved.

Here is my prediction (it may be 10-15 years out). "Assault Weapons" will be NFA items with an amnesty free registration. I know it might not be possible to waive tax laws, but maybe one day congress or the ATF could figure out a way to say something is an NFA weapon and if you register in some amount of time you get amnesty and dont have to pay the taxes. I know that is far fetched, but it could be possible to do.

I agree with most of your points. This last one bothers me. From soccer-mom side - it is doing something, from 2A side - does nothing to make children safer. But I read it as it furthers the goal of govt to assemble a gun registry with the ultimate goal of disarming the populace. That is a larger issue than the shootings, despite what the media blathers through their bullhorn to gather eyeballs and clicks. Personally, amnesty is a non-issue. There is no reason the govt needs to know what I have (or dont have :) ). And to further the point, it is extremely important that the govt DOES NOT know what any of us have in our safes.

Hahaha!

Logic and government repel each other like the same poles on a magnet.

Leftists determined to gain power over the uneducated masses will never allow logic or reason to dissuade them from their righteous ambitions.

They dont care what you have in your safe.

They will make it so if you take it out of your safe and someone sees it, call the police. They want to first pass laws for registration / amnesty. Then after a ban. They know who has them. Those that don't register, will be arrested if the guns come out of the safe. And if for some reason they search your house and there is unregistered weapons, you go to prison.

It is much easier to arrest/imprison one at a time. Doing en masse would not be wise. But as long as they do it like the Oregon (Bundy) Ranch standoff, they will be fine. Just a small group of "conspiracy nutcases" that are dangerous and need to be dealt with.

If you think others will generally come to "your" aid when the government get out of control you live in a fantasy land. We just had an ex-president arrested / charged on made-up felony charges were the DA won't (can't?) say what the underlying crime is to make these misdemeanors. 34 felonies? And what has the country done?

You are on your own if they ban guns and you don't comply.

I may be. But that might be what "getting off the porch" looks like in the coming future.
