One of my favorite writers, Tom Sowell is one of the people I would love to have lunch with.

He is a brilliant scholar yet has a way of explaining a subject as complex as economics so even a dolt like me can understand it.

I found a site (https://fee.org/articles/30-priceless-quotes-from-the-great-thomas-sowell/) that has "30 of his best quotes", for whatever that is worth. Watching him debate is very entertaining.

A few...

"When you want to help people, you tell them the truth. When you want to help yourself, you tell them what they want to hear."

"I have never understood why it is "greed" to want to keep the money you have earned but not greed to want to take somebody else's money."

"It is hard to imagine a more stupid or more dangerous way of making decisions than by putting those decisions in the hands of people who pay no price for being wrong."

"If you have always believed that everyone should play by the same rules and be judged by the same standards, that would have gotten you labeled a radical 60 years ago, a liberal 30 years ago and a racist today."

"When you want to help people, you tell them the truth. When you want to help yourself, you tell them what they want to hear."

Unfortunately, this is exactly why the black community is attracted to the wrong type of "leader"...like Jesse Jackson or Al Sharpton.

Not sure if this was one of his sayings, But it goes along the lines of when a Liberal says you need to pay your fair share ask them “How much of my hard earned money are you entitled to and WHY?”
