Where is it recommended to take the class in the Lakewood area ? I had one and it expired right when Covid got big, so I pretty much had to let it expire. Now I have to take the class again. The first time ( probably 12-15 years ago) I took it at I local church.

Thanks for all the suggestions ? This place is not nearly as " popular" as I thought it would be.

We have a great class where I work, but I dont want to piss off the mods for advertising it without being an industry partner of the forum...

I'll respond to your snark with some of my own- if you're dissatisfied that members didn't snap-to to give you info that you can easily find on Google, don't feel obligated to stick around (especially given your urgency in waiting three years to address your failure to renew)
Guns for everyone
Not sure where exactly it is.

THIS^^^^ especially when a new class isn't required for renewal if you have a valid permit.
"Handgun Training Certificate
As long as your permit remains current with the Sheriff’s Office, you do not need another training certificate." (https://www.jeffco.us/437/Renewal-Applicant)

Since everyone else is dog piling on you for your impatience, I?ll just say that my permit was also set to expire when the virus was at its peak. I still went and renewed mine.
Hope you get it all sorted out.

My apologies for piling on. I recall you saying elsewhere you aren't that internet savvy.
For those that find themselves in the same boat, it appears Jefferson County doesn't require you to go in for a renewal (I know El Paso County renews without a visit too.) It can easily be done without leaving home.

Do you need a new class? Or do you just want to take a new class?

It depends on the age of his previous cert. From the Jeffco site:
"A training certificate from a handgun training class obtained within 10 years before submitting this application. The certificate must include the original signature of the certified instructor who taught the class.
A “handgun training class” means: a law enforcement training firearms safety course; a firearms safety course offered by a law enforcement agency, an institution of higher education, a public or private institution or organization or firearms training school that is open to the general public and is taught by a certified instructor; or a firearms safety course or class offered and taught by a certified instructor.
A “certified instructor” is a firearms safety course instructor certified by a county, municipal, state or federal law enforcement agency; the Colorado Peace Officer Standards Training (POST) board; a federal military agency; or a national nonprofit organization that certifies firearms instructors, operates national firearms competitions and provides training, including courses in personal protection, in small arms safety, use and marksmanship."
Gotcha. Makes sense. I would recommend looking into the Free Class put on by Demonstrated Concepts, then go get firearms skills from your preferred option on your own time and dime elsewhere.
I renewed mine in Boulder during the covid lockdowns. It was all done via email and was super easy.
That said there are concealed carry classes advertised every week somewhere in the metro area.
I did mine via mail during the flu. And they took 2 months after it expired to send it to me. Dated 2 days before I got it in the mail. All the hoops I jumped through the first time. I'm not sure I have to take another class before renewing a 2 time?

I kinda gave up checking here, sorry. I was told if you let your ccw expire, ( don’t renew before expiration date) you have to take the class and apply all over again. I have tried to call Jefferson county several times but have not been able to get through.
