What are some of the cheaper electronic muffs you guys have tried and liked. I want to try cheaper ones cause I just can't throw down $300-400 on muffs right now. I was thinking these as they have some great reviews. Also, I perfer low profile muffs!

I use a set of these most of the time:

And they do rather well. I tend to forget to turn them off sometimes and the battery goes dead. Although they're low profile enough that they're good to shoot the AR with.

Those look nice. Do you know how thick the actual muff is?

I just got some of those when they were on sale at Cabelas but have not shot with them yet. Just messing around with them in the house they seem to work well though.

There's a $29 pair at Cabela's that work great. I personally don't have those, but used a friends and definitely would recommend them.

I have a set of Peltor Tactical 7 Classics

not only cuts off loud bangs, but amplifies everything else so you can hear and speak normally.

plus, there's a plug to attach a radio or even an mp3 player.

more expensive but I've found with many things in life, especially electronics, you get what you pay for.

mine were a gift anyway~

I will have to see the brand I have but they are great, amplify talking and cut out the bang of a gunshot.
only problem I have with any of them is while wearing shooting glasses it hurts the effectiveness of the ear muffs.

I also put in earplugs and just turn up the volume...probably cuts another 10 dB.

O11- we shoot alot of p.d.s and have several e-muffs cause the grandkids shoot w/us. As is life, you get what you pay for. Our 2 favorites are the pro-ear and beretta. As for battery life , if you can get into AA you'll be happier cause ya can't always find the lil special ones. If ya want to save battery life, just turn on the ear closest to the voice ya want to hear, doubles the bat. life. Both of these are low profile. Check on tthe back room returns @ places like Cabelas, their are always returns from people who didn't like what they got. Keep an eye on specials-seems they are on sales often. Even one ear elec. work good, just turn the elec to the side ya want to have hearing from the most.. j.c.

I've had two sets of Peltor's but battery life was very short. Bought a pair of Walker's from Cabella's for $149 and the batteries last much longer, are easier to replace and sound quality is better.
