Kopel was on with Jon Caldara discussing the recently passed laws, their origins and the left's motives.
Dave Kopel, Jon Caldera, have proven to be no more useful than an idiot.

-JohnWhat makes you think that? Do you know these men?
Kopel has made arguements in support of gun rights at all levels of the judiciary and Independence Institute(run by Caldera) has funded lawsuits to defend gun rights and freedom.
If you're unarmed, you are a victim.

I can say that he showed up to an Edgewater City Council meeting and absolutely helped our cause.

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say Dave Kopel has done more to help gun rights around the country than you have. I know he's done more than I have. And he's been at it a long time. He has a national stage (likely international) and audience and he reaches millions of people. I don't even know how many pro-gun books and professional articles he's published.
Saying he's no more useful than an idiot in the context of anti-gun control is idiotic.

In 2008, Kopel appeared before the United States Supreme Court as part of the team presenting the defense's oral argument in District of Columbia v. Heller. His Heller amicus brief for a law coalition of law enforcement organizations and district attorneys was cited four times in the Court's Heller opinions.

He is the author of 17 books, hundreds of newspaper and magazine articles, and over 100 scholarly journal articles.
His briefs have been cited by U.S. Supreme Court Justices Alito, Breyer, and Stevens, and his research has been cited by ten state Supreme Court cases, ten federal Circuit Court of Appeals cases, and in over 600 law review articles. The Seventh Circuit described his scholarship as a correct model of "originalist interpretive method as applied to the Second Amendment."
If he is an idiot, we should all strive to his level of idiocy.
I've been a guest on Colorado Inside Out Live (https://www.pbs.org/show/colorado-inside-out/) and have followed the show from Peter Boyles, to today.
What's important to realize is that David Kopel is interacting with Liberal guests, as a form of entertainment.
He'll smile, when they talk about Socializing Medicine, and tell them what's great about Socialized Medicine.
He'll smile, when they talk about raising taxes, and tell them what's great about raising taxes.
Nobody will remember or recall his argument against socializing medicine or raising taxes.
Colorado Inside Out Live has been on the air for a bazillion years, and here we are, in the most BLUE state possible.
Whatever influence you think he has had, he has not.

Yep, because apparently the influence you wielded on a socialist, state run media outlet has been profound... [facepalm]
and here we are, in the most BLUE state possible.
-John
Really? The "most blue state possible"?
Lol...
Did you even look at last year's election results?
BLUE!
Perhaps you even voted that way...

So, because I disagreed with your hyperbolic statement of Colorado being the "most BLUE state possible" (clearly hyperbolic as CA and many other states are far more Blue than CO) you insinuate that I must have voted blue...
Cool. Passive aggressive personal insults instead of actually engaging in the discussion.

-JohnThe topic is gun rights and the only evidence you bring to the table is vague round table discussion of socialization of medicine.
Pretty weak.

OK... If you're gonna say something idiotic you might as well double down on it when confronted.

Ha. I?m going to make that my new mantra and live my life by it. Thanks.

LOL. I wish I had more room on my sig line.

That's Gold.
Guys, guys - it's simple, unless someone perfectly aligns with 100% of our beliefs, opinions, and lip service, they are idiots. 99.9% agreement is not an ally, that 99.9%'er is destroying the country because they disagree with us on skim vs whole milk.
