Here we go again, big panic, the Dumb Asses are reaching another dead-line/recess break, and they give dumb-ass reasons why it's happening. The news does the usual blame game and the public eats it up.

This has been going on for years, they just pass it on, just like the last administration. Dirty Politics, Dirty Politicians. Term limits is the answer but these F*cks would never give that up. Not to mention the sad medical issues with Fetterman and Feinstein (I wish them the best), who really are clueless, but count as a vote.

These people have no concern for the average Joe, they are going a well-paying job, getting rich and could care less (unless you are a big campaign contributor), great economics study.

Am I missing something?

Same thing every time. The sky is falling, the government is going to collapse and no agreement is even close.

Then on the last day they magically come to an agreement. Except that one time they sent .gov employees home for short vacation then paid them all back pay anyway.

It's all a show.

They'll never stop spending the money we don't have.

We could (and likely might) declare offshore holdings invalid. Destroying much debt, and all Chinese import.

That was approval of the federal budget versus raising debt ceiling.

If the US defaults on their debt, a whole new economic reality hits the world.

The job of all of our representatives and senators is to maintain the security of the country. If they don't do their job, they should be fired immediately.
You would be.

I may be wrong but... I dont see a chance in hell that they will ever default. This is all political posturing and theatre. "I need money for my pet project or I wont vote yes"

Fuck all of the politicians on both sides of the aisle. (and the rest too)

I love how the play it too. Elderly and Veterans wont be paid and will be dying in the streets if we dont approve the money.

Unless you have a government job. Or a union job. Or both.

Hard for me to feel sorry for either. Same old crap.

The solution is, of course, to get out of debt. Most adults understand that this is a desirable goal, but I guess congress critters aren't adults.

Hilarious!

They are arguing about, not cutting spending, just cutting the rate of increase in spending.

This entire thing was all a dog and pony show from the start. It's all BS. There was never any risk of "default". I'm not convinced the debt ceiling even matters. Just days before this so-called default, at the very same time government agencies were claiming they were out of cash and may not be able to pay next week's payroll, we announced another $250M was being sent to Ukraine. Debt ceiling my ass.

The government spends whatever it wants, the budget is make believe and there is no debt "ceiling". It's all BS.

You never hear about how Congress won't be paid; nor the freeloaders of society - just those who've earned it lose out.

That is where the problem is. Lawmakers are making decisions (laws) many of which, they are immune from. This 'last second touch-down' celebration to somehow glorify their sorry-ass decision is a great example of their deceit. Biden is the 'Savior" that keeps our country running!

They need to be fired. Politicians are smart and they have their own goals, they could care less about the American people and the real problems. Something has to change.

Political Strategy 101: Create an artificial crisis. Set an arbitrary deadline. Dither until the last minute, while hyping the fear of the allegedly disastrous consequences of missing the deadline. Heroically "solve" the crisis at the last minute. Rinse and repeat.
