I received my new registration in the mail today.
I purchased the park pass option. I do not see separate parks pass. There is the parks and wildlife sheep emblem on my new registration.
Do I have to show that to the booth every time I go through it? Can I still go through the express lane?
I'd like to know, too. We have it on my wife's car (mine renewed the month before it was an option) but the only uses has been at the Cherry Creek reservoir when nobody has been at the booth. We just parked with no consequences.

I see it listed on the mycolorado app but would rather not have to load more garbage on my phone.

It?s s on your registration paper. The one WITHOUT your address. There is a CPW logo. Ultimately, the state park attendant will be able to read your license plate and see if you have the pass or not.

From https://cpw.state.co.us/aboutus/pages/keep-colorado-wild-pass.aspx
This new annual pass gives all Coloradans access to state parks and the added benefit of supporting our great outdoors and wildlife in a meaningful way.
and
When you buy the pass, a Colorado Parks and Wildlife logo is printed on your registration card.
The pass is not transferable between vehicles and is linked to your license plate and registration card.
Keep your registration card/pass in your car when you enter a state park. The pass can also be linked on the myColorado app or My CPW app (See the Keep Colorado Wild Pass - Link to CPWshop.com Guide).
plus
The pass provides car, bike and foot entry into all Colorado state parks. To find a Colorado state parks map, use the CPW State Park Finder Tool (https://cpw.state.co.us/placestogo/parks/Pages/ParkMap.aspx). This pass does not currently grant access to federal recreation fee areas, state wildlife areas or state trust lands. Activities such as camping, fishing or hunting will still require the appropriate reservations or licenses.
ETA:
All regularly priced Colorado state park passes (https://cpw.state.co.us/buyapply/Pages/AnnualPassInfo.aspx) are still available.
So do I need to wait until next year when I re-up my registration to get the pass at the cheap price or can I get it at a state park? I tried calling but never got through to a human, thanks.

Too late. You can still buy the full priced one at your favorite state park.

Yhea, not yet implemented. When I went to Castlewood Canyon about a week ago I showed my registration with the emblem. I then asked "Should I place this on my dashboard if I park at the North entrance (no ranger stationed there)? and they said "No, we won't give you a ticket." I asked, "So it's based on you checking the license plate?" and they said "No, we don't have that yet."
So it's literally a free-for-all at the moment if there isn't an entrance with a ranger.
I then asked "So, they implemented this entire system without talking to you guys, didn't they?" to which the response was "Yes".

Thanks, my renewal was prior to this system coming into play.
Note that the pass is for that vehicle only.
Sounds like there is a real disconnect here...lol I was at the DMV last week, and the people next to me were setting it up. The guy was told it was attached to his plate number and he didn't have to worry about it.

It seems that the answers to my questions are- it doesn't matter.
Hold up your registration and zoom through either side since our well honed government is in charge!
Well this is bullshit.
We're going to Pueblo Reservoir so I renewed my tags early (well in the grace month) to get the new pass and wouldn't ya know;
The temp renewal or receipt that is issued via email doesn't show anything about the parks pass. The receipt doesn't have all the tax details of course and I didn't grab a screenshot.
Typical gov, clueless and useless.
I guess if they try to hassle me, I'll just show them all the tree I killed to print it all out and the total shown on the renewal card WITH the park pass matches the amount I paid. Oh yea, it was $745 fkn fiat dollars for a 3 year old truck. I can't wait to hit 90 potholes with my truck, RV, and boat all taking a beating on the way down to Pueblo, all paying for the same POS roads.

The pass is tied to the license plate. I was told they would have plate readers at all entrances. Also the pass is noted on the official registration (its like a little parks stamp)

Maybe it will be accessible by the My Colorado app? I can pull up my drivers license on my phone.

Interesting conundrum
The Chatfield State Park entrance off Wadsworth has replaced the toll booth window with totally reflective glass.
If you drive in the left entrance lane, you are supposed to have a Parks Pass, but you can not see anyone wave you through with the new glass.
I still have a window sticker good through August, so I just drive through slowly.
But, my truck registration does not renew until Nov.
Do I buy another window sticker and wait for the promised refund, or do I wave a registration and just keep on driving knowing that no one can read that registration.
Oh Boy or is that Boy Howdy?
