Like many of us here, I'm an Amazon Prime member. This post is a rant and a word of caution to other Amazon shoppers at the end.

Last week I ordered a NEW Ryobi Electric Pressure Washer from Amazon (the same model is sold by Home Depot, but no one has it in stock). The order arrived today.


Immediately upon seeing the box up close on my porch I recognized that this "NEW" product had been used/repackaged. While there was a lot of tape on the box, only about 3-4 inches were intact enough to keep the bottom of the box sealed. -RED FLAG-

I opened the box (2 fingers, no knife, etc. needed), pulled back the flaps and noticed clear signs of wear on the product. Even if this product had never actually been used, it definitely didn't meet the "new" classification. NOTE: The Amazon listing now indicates that this item is "Used: Very Good".

I never took the product out of the box and immediately went onto Amazon to request to return the item. In short order I received an email from the seller (Shelita VaLee Watson of TMD Sales) indicating that they (she) are charging a 20% restocking fee, indicated that I am responsible for return shipping, and requested that I insure the item. I'll be returning via UPS and will demand tracking but I won't ensure this piece of junk.

After getting the email from the seller (Shelita VaLee Watson of TMD Sales) I decided to leave as bad of a review for this seller and item that I could (1 star with honest comments). I was able to see that the seller "TMD Sales" is actually this person:

The word of caution for everyone is to get a screen capture of items you're buying on Amazon up front (for later proof of claimed condition status), check out the seller as much as Amazon and Google allow, and then read all of the comments other buyers have posted for their reviews of the seller. Had I done all of these things I could have avoided this situation. The reviews for this seller has 25% for 1 star. The 2 of the first 4 1-star reviews specifically mention a crappy Ryobi pressure washer (my guess is it's the exact same one I received). Do you due diligence and research before spending your hard earned dollars. I wish I had.

I'm dealing with an AMAZON supplied item now for over a week. First item delayed over 4 days after waiting a week for it (likely lost) so I ordered a replacement and then contacted AMZ. Meanwhile, the item showed up via a UPS fling later that day. Partially opened, no packing material whatsoever and all scratched to fawk. It's an RV vent cover. Even after contacting Amazon and to this day, it still shows "order received" so I can't request a return/refund.

The replacement that was due in Monday? Also seems to be lost in the Amazon jungle.

But hye, at least it was Amazon and I will eventually get a refund, unlike you're scam artist Shelita VaLee Watson at 5880 Double Birch Douglasville Georgia 30135 US

We should really be careful about disparaging Shelita VaLee Watson in Douglasville Georgia for falsely representing a Ryobi product as new on Amazon. I’m sure she is a great person and not a pedophile and certainly not an actual Amazon scammer as I’m sure Amazon would ban her sales account if she had a bunch of negative reviews… especially if they mentioned her by name, Shelita VaLee Watson in Douglasville Georgia.

I mean, I Googled Shelita VaLee Watson in Douglasville Georgia and I can’t find anything saying she’s a criminal or a child molester or a fraudulent seller or even that she’s ugly and her momma dresses her funny. I agree, in the few times I've had a problem with an unscrupulous Amazon seller, I called customer support and they made good on the issue. Also, leaving an accurate, detailed Amazon review on exactly how an unscrupulous seller falsely described and sent a used item is unlikely to be deleted.


Now, I haven't personally bought anything from Shelita VaLee Watson of TMD sales, so I can't say with certainty that she tried to pull a fast one by delivering a used item when it was sold as new or refused to fully compensate the customer, instead demanding the good customer pay a substantial fee for returning a bad sale item. After all, it is the customer who is further inconvenienced by having to unpack, inspect, repack and ship said bad sale item back in order to then find an honest business to buy from. Such customer would rightly deserve to be paid for the inconvenience and loss of time and money for the service, perhaps amounting to the value of the bad sale item, or more.

A possible resolution could involve a company such as TMD Sales to offer to return the buyers money and abandon the goods to the buyer.

A motivated victim could sue in state court, forcing an unscrupulous seller, and Amazon, to hire a law firm to defend a dishonest sale. All would be unnecessary if only the seller corrected the matter, repented the transgression, and takes steps to ensure it never happens again.

Alternatively, a seller could simply close the business and seek employment at Walmart, which pays good wages and benefits, without complications stemming from errors in judgement.

It is an absolute certainty that I would never do business with the likes of Shelita VaLee Watson of TMD Sales at 5880 Double Birch Douglasville Georgia 30135, if I could know in advance of any dishonest inclinations. When an unscrupulous Amazon seller commits fraud, it is by extension, Amazon that is committing fraud.

One's reputation is the most important thing a business can cultivate. That doesn't happen by accident, it happens by honesty.

Not particularly good. I failed to do my due diligence before buying from this seller - a huge bad on me. Frankly, I mistakenly believed that Amazon properly managed their sellers to ensure it's customers didn't get screwed. I will never make that mistake again.
