Hard to believe anything out of the area, but the current reporting is that a coup may be on in Russia, led by Wagner, the mercenary company, who claimed that Russian forces attacked their (Wagner's) position deliberately.

Sounds more like they're trying to overthrow the Russian generals, not necessarily Putin/FSB, but *shrug*

Whenever Wagner is mentioned, I never know if it is the composer or the equipment dealer.

Oh, look! Vladimir FINALLY has a legitimate excuse to demonstrate his precious TACNUKES without committing a war crime! This'll be interesting.

Depending on how successful Wagner is in their offense, and how far they're willing to go, this could legitimately lead to Russian use of nukes (as Clint stated).

While internal at this point, once the first nuke goes off, it could cause an uncontrolled chain reaction for many more nukes being used - and not just internal to Russia.

Watching how this unfolds closely.

MSM says Putin took his Command & Control aircraft to a bunker in Valdai. Reports are that vacationing Russians are glued to cellphones and laptops.
NRO just launched a Delta IV heavy. Quiet skies here right now.

Appears as though the "coup" had ended.

The chief of Wagner has stopped his advance on Moscow and is backing away from further aggressive activity.

I think that Prigozhin guy should stay away from tall buildings for a while.

I think that Prigozhin guy should stay away from tall buildings for a while.

Probably why he went to Belarus.

More danger of falling through a thatched roof than falling off one.

First they move nuclear weapons to Belarus. Then they move Wagner Group to Belarus. Time to check the batteries on the Geiger counters.

Different perspective.

I am for the moment (at least next few hours) “near” the nukes in Europe.

1. It is still a volatile situation. He has not been physically seen in Belarus. Only audio has been released.
2. Putin told Wagner soldiers join regular army and then they can (if they live through it) come home. If not soldiers are exiled to Belarus.

Europeans are very concerned if Prigozhin takes over or gets ahold of nukes. He openly criticized Putin for not using nukes on Ukraine to “end the war”. The fear is if Prigozhin takes over or gets nukes, he will use them. He is seen as much more unstable and ruthless than Putin.

Prigozhin is and out and out war criminal. His groups have committed crimes against the civilian populations everywhere Wagner operates.

I had discussions with someone who is a refugee from the War area. It is the girlfriend of a good friend. Basically the people in that region dislike both the Russians and the Ukrainians at this point. The region Russia invaded speaks mostly Russian and not Ukrainian. Ukraine has made it illegal to speak or print in Russian in these areas. Think about it like this (sorta a comparison). Mexico attacks USA in TX. As such Texans are arrested / fined if they get caught speaking Texan. I wouldn’t make Texans happy with the war. They see two enemies.

On the plus side, there are some cheap real estate deals to be had in Ukraine at the moment…

But all in all, it’s a dangerous situation. Sad to say with coup, Putin is the stable one…

What is needed is a coup with people that want to end the war not a coup with a blood thirsty nut case.

This is how you transport nuclear weapons. So much safer than trucking them in. Maybe I should invest in a satellite phone...

^^ Thanks for sharing this, when all we see and hear on the news is certainly slanted pro-Ukrainian, the truth is a bit different. Stay safe wherever you are!

The truth is still out there. I didn't know war fighting was so casual that many men and equipment could just falala up the road to mocba, and then disappear.
