We all know he was the baddest man in the whole damn town.

He seemed to be a gentleman with his fancy clothes and his diamond rings.

He carried a .32 gun in his pocket for fun and a razor in his shoe.

There seems to be no historical notes as to which .32 he carried.

Remember, he stood about 6 foot 4. The ladies call him "tree top lover" and the men just call him "Sir", so he was unlikely to chose to settle his disputes from a distance.

Was he a revolver guy? A .32 S&W long could be a pretty effective belly gun. And no empty shells to try to locate.

Or did he fancy a .32 ACP?

I can see a nickel plated Colt 1903 with pearl grips being his gun of choice.

It fits with the custom Continental and the Eldorado too.

What do you think?

Can’t remember how long I have been a Jim Croce fan.

I’m a big fan of the shoes he designed.…

I don’t think that’s how it works!
But that would be a good idea Croce Crocs!!!

But they keep the soles of the big man’s feet the only part from being bloody…..

Not a fan. Kind of a long story but in my youth I worked at a place and that Time in a Bottle song was almost played on a loop. Kind of ruined it for me as far as being a fan.

What the first thing you’d like to do then?

That "station" has ruined many a song for me.

Still a Jim Croce fan.

I was thinking about this thread this morning.

While I enjoy plenty of rock from the 80's and some from the 90's, what I've always preferred is music you don't have to try to be able to understand the lyrics and I especially enjoy songs that tell a story.

Jim Croce always sang songs that lived up to these preferences. He sang ballads and there was a certain amount of heart and soul in his songs.

It's sad that we don't really have anyone we writes/sings like that anymore (at least for new stuff).

That looks like a Police Positive that I used to have, that I traded to another member here.

90% probability it was an off brand breaktop from 1880/90s... very common on the streets from the 1920s thru the 1970s.

Like this...

We thought grandpa got it from his brother-in-law. Maybe he spent some time on the south side of Chicago, although I never knew him to be a jealous man. And grandma's name is not Doris. Or Linda Lou...
