We're beginning to see smoke from the Devil's Thumb fire NE of Fraser. It's small so far at 95 acres yesterday, but 0$% contained. With so much rain lately, I hope it will be extinguished.

On July 4, federal and county resources responded with 3 heavy airtankers, 4 helicopters, 2 hotshot crews, and 2 initial attack crews.

The photo posted on the site below makes me wonder if Hoser is up there doing battle for us? Would like him to check in here. Our mountain home is 15 miles northeast.

Given the general moisture levels, I was very surprised that was able to kick-off.

We are not up there, yet.

If the Forest Service decides to use us as an Air Asset, we will be there.

Until that time, we are just doing our normal Air Force things.

Thanks, Hoser! I'm doing continuing fire mitigation and made a trip with old logs to the Meeker Park forestry sort yard. The Middle St. Vrain Canyon was filled with smoke. Not so bad now as the wind is picking up.
