We decided not to go even though looks like last one for this venue. Few twinges of regret talking to a couple buddies who are on the way there.
Any members attending take lots of pics and post them here. TV coverage just doesn't do the event justice.

I went last night with my old man. I will post some vidoes tonight.
Last chance to set some track records.

Last chance to set some track records.Britany Force wowed the sellout crowd during the final qualifying session, making the fastest run ever at Bandimere Speedway with a pass of?3.724 at 337.33?in her 11,000-horsepower Monster Energy dragster.
I predict no additional records will be set in tomorrow's forecasted heat.
My nearest track closed as well. Bad days for autosports

It was a good day with my family. We were 4 rows up in section 3 and the weather was perfect.
Got pretty misty after the last pair of Top Fuels went down the track and the announcer said “The last pair of Top Fuels cars to go down this track”*.
Looking at my youngest who is now 32 and realizing the Mile High Nats were the very first car races I took him to at 4 years old.
We have gone every year.
Looking out across the highway at the housing encroaching, remembering when any houses were distant points of light. Sad, another American icon gone.
Fuck “progress”. It’s like Liberalism-it destroys everything.
*finals are today so there will be a few more passes

@electroman1729 - Thank you for posting those.
End of an era. Very sad.
Too cool, thanks Electronman.
It is indeed the end of an era. Bandimere is/was the last stop on East Colfax. My buddies and I would ride Colfax from Havana, take off our mirrors, and race on Friday nights. Paint your dial-in on the bike and go! I still have my trophy winning with a 17.x (second) time, probably 85MPH, one Friday night, on my Honda CB360T.
That was when I was like 18 years old. I am now 60.
I still receive their magazine every year.

Wonder if they are open any more Friday nights through the season?
If so, I have a Honda CBR600f4i I would like to send through.
Anybody else?
-John
And just so everyone knows, anything goes on Friday night.
You have a Tesla, yeah baby.
A truck, for sure.
A Camaro, hot rod?
Mom's v8 station wagon?
On Friday night they will help you find the class you should race in. They'll help you with your dial-in, etc.
Just show up and have fun!
-John
I think these are upcoming nights...
July – 7, 8, 28, 29
August – 4, 5, 6, 11, 12, 27
September – 16, 22, 24, 30
October – 1, 6, 7, 8, 14, 15, 21
https://bandimere.com/racer-corner/
if anyone wants to join me.
-John
This would be us... ET-Series...
https://bandimere.com/et-series/
Couple of dates left in July, then early August, then a final one in September.
I prefer one of the August or September dates. The September date may be crazy, so I prefer an August date.
-John
Friday, August 11th.
I'm going to race, and see ya'll there.
-John
Can an Admin please change the title from Mile High Nationals to Mile High Nationals - Bandimere Farewell?
-John
I'm pretty numb to my disappointment in CO. This is just another example of why CO is no longer the state that I was born into. I had a good time with the nationals last year, but I decided I was too busy this year trying to sell my house. Trying to look forward to better things than looking backward to what CO use to be.

My daughter scored a piston from Chad Green (currently #5 in the Funny Car standings). I thought that was a pretty sweet offering.
In the past couple of days I?ve noticed way more dragsters for sale than you typically see around here.
Coincidence?
I think not.
I’m in the professional auto racing industry and even we don’t know exactly what the Bandimere family’s plan is for the future. I can’t see Generational employment and wealth being thrown out the window as that track was the only National Event location currently in CO. Rumors are they have a 2yr plan for a new track east of I-25. I’ll post any credible updates here if I hear anything.

Thunder on the eastern plains....sounds amazing.
Anyone up for Friday night? Probably will be the last chance to race at what we know as Bandimere.
