I am big fan of Santiago's, and am posting this from a booth in the Longmont location.

I wonder what the hell occured...

The teenage employee was armed and exchanged gunfire with the customer.

The customer is known to police.

Interesting.

Could it be a couple of hood rats shooting it out?- Yes.

Could be an armed teen who did what he needed to do in order to protect himself and others?- Yes.

We just don't know. Of course, an armed teen will NEVER be presented in a positive light, no matter what the circumstances.

Someone was possibly upset about the half and half that day?

I?d guess hood rats and that they probably knew each other.

In rare instances when I've driven away with what I thought was a hot green chili steak burrito only to discover that whomever assembled the burrito seemingly forget the stop at the green chili station I've been tempted to do similar.

Love their food! Had a tamale platter yesterday.

The teen was only 15... armed with a handgun... followed the customer out into the parking lot to escalate a verbal argument, and at least one of his rounds struck the windshield of an uninvolved female.

Now he's in critical condition due to his poor life choices.

The first two points- age 15, and armed with a handgun, don't really concern me much. I had full access to my own revolver at 14 and am not a fan of possession based legal restrictions- your actions dictate your character. However, based on your post, it definitely appears to be "hood rat on hood rat".
