Suppressor options for .20 Tactical?

I'm in the market for a suppressor for a .20 Tactical barrel for a new AR build and looking for someone more up to date on the current offerings to give some advice. The plan is to make a new prairie dog rifle.

I was going to order a TBAC 556 takedown, but it's been discontinued for reasons unknown with no apparent replacement. What's my second choice? Or should I just use a currently owned .30 cal suppressor?

I don?t have a 20 practical, but I run my 30 cal cans on my 223 caliber guns all the time. I only have one 223 can.

I would run the 30 cal can. If if you want something smaller hanging off the front, thats a good reason. The difference in sound you likely won?t hear.

I got in on the free SilencerCo Sparrow .22 deal many years back. I've used it on both AR15-22's and .22 pistols with subsonic rounds with good results. The first round pop is a bit more than I'd like but I think that's pretty common among .22 suppressors. Overall sound forward of the action is probably less than a typical pellet fun. In fact, I had some sort of a whisper gammo something or another prior to this and it was louder. For my use, I typically only fire one shot cold (neighborhood rabbit dispatch) so I kind of wish it dealt with FRP better but no complaints for the price.

I'm not convinced using any of the .22 rimfire suppressors I own would be a good idea with a the .20 tactical cartridge, but maybe I'm mistaken. 32 grain V Max at 4,000 fps sounds hot for a rimfire suppressor.

I do, however, have an extra adapter for one of my .30 cal rifle suppressors. Length isn't an issue since I'll be at a table. It's going to be long with the 20" barrel and a 9" suppressor, but giving that a try before I buy something else is a good idea. Thanks for the help.

Use hearing protection when you test it. I have a Gemtech One that I put on my .17 Fireball and found that the supersonic crack from a 4000fps bullet is still quite loud. The muzzle blast is gone but the crack is still there.

Even a steel rimfire can will come apart at 20 Tactical muzzle pressures.

Use a 22 centerfire can or a 308 can.

I use a Thunderbeast 338 Ultra on one of my 223 Boltguns. Zero muzzle flash and almost Hollywood quiet. The coyotes never know what hit 'em.

I have two suppressors, a .22 cal SAS Ti and a .30 cal TB Ultra CB7. I bought a thread adapter and extra CB break so that I can use my TB on my small rifles also and have tried it on my .17 AH, my .17 Rem. and my .204. To my ears I can tell the difference with the .22 cal SAS being quieter.

With that said, if ya got the funds it never hurts to have a second suppressor, and IMO, having one in .22 cal and one in .30 or .338 cal pretty much covers all the base's. Should be several good options for a .22 cal these days. Pick one.
