They come right out of the gate stating "We support the second amendment, but..."

They support everything the left supports. Maybe even more. So much for "center."

The Colorado Center party's position on "Gun violence" (https://coloradocenterparty.org/issues/gun-violence/):

================================================== ========

The Center Party supports the 2nd amendment, but laws defining what is legal to
be possessed and by whom needs to be clarified and strengthened.

Whereas training and awareness of gun safety is an important element to keeping
everyone safe;

Be it resolved that the Center Party supports professional gun safety training
shall be required of every gun purchaser.

Be it resolved that the Center Party supports allowing the instructor to render
an evaluation during training of the owner's fitness to own a gun.

Whereas many shootings have been perpetrated by individuals who were under 21 and
were not emotionally mature enough to own a gun;

Be it resolved that the Center Party supports the minimum age requirement of
21 to purchase a gun (not possess). People under 21 with appropriate
supervision can possess a gun for hunting or work requirements.

Whereas many shootings are committed by people in emotional distress or heat of the
moment impulses;

Be it resolved that the Center Party supports a waiting period for gun
purchases from any source (commercial or private sale) to allow for proper
background checks and inhibit impulse buys by those in short-term mental
distress.

Whereas many shootings are perpetrated by mentally unstable people and are known
to be a prior threat by friends, family, local law enforcement, licensed mental health
professionals, licensed educators, district attorneys and government agencies;

Be It resolved that the Center Party supports Red Flag laws, also known as
high-risk protection orders, which require prompt enforcement of Red Flag
laws if a threat is perceived by family, friends, local law enforcement, licensed
mental health professionals, licensed educators, district attorneys and
government agencies.

Be it resolved that the Center Party supports requiring timely due process for
those that are impacted by the Red Flag Law.

Whereas many large gun purchases are straw purchases used for illegal activity;

Be It resolved that the Center Party supports limiting the quantity of guns that
can be purchased in a year.

Whereas Assault Rifle (AR) style weapons are the weapon of choice for mass shootings
because they are more lethal;

Be it resolved that the Center Party supports prohibiting the sale or transfer of
AR style weapons. Existing AR style gun owners can keep their weapon, but
it shall be illegal to sell or transfer ownership to another person. Improper
use, criminal conviction, or death of the owner will result in forfeiture of the
weapon to authorities.

Be it resolved that the Center Party will have no measurable effect on upcoming elections.

were not emotionally mature enough to own a gun;

Whereas the center Party supports gender affirmation surgery for 5 yr olds. We all know they are mature enough to make that important decision.

Are you sure?

I?m sure there?s a large group of gun owners (you know, the ones who mostly think they have the right to own guns so they can hunt. They mostly have hunting type rifles and maybe a revolver or 1911 and generally don?t believe certain types of weapons are necessary.) who will throw away their otherwise republican vote by voting for these clowns.

Taking votes away from the republican party is essentially casting a vote for the democrats.

Be it resolved that the Center Party does not in fact support the second amendment and therefore can go fuck themselves.

If you're unarmed, you are a victim.

Don't think we have to worry about R's throwing away votes. We're in East California. All our votes are already wasted [mop]

Also sounds like another hair brained 3rd party that has 0% chance of becoming relevant, because they dont know.how to actually consistently pull from all three groups.

Oh boy, they've got a whole 1000 people to sign up. I'm looking forward to their impact on our political process.

The other way of looking at that is that they've found 1000 more people who share their same idiotic political philosophies. Typically you can multiply the number by 7-10 to get a better idea of how many people will have like minded ideas. Lots of idiots running around out there - and many of them actually vote. (Lord help us, this country needs to be flushed).

Since stupid seems to be more contagious than COVID and it apparently doesn't hurt (at least, not those afflicted by it), I think it's time to remove the damned warning labels off of everything and let nature run its course
