Ring of Fire Eclipse.
Used a pinhole in a sheet of paper with the sun behind reflecting on a light surface to watch the progress.
Helps keep that precious eye sight.
Four groups of sunspots visible. If you have a telescope with the proper filter.

It was cool. The light dimmed enough for my solar fountain to stop pumping. Ambient light took on a yellow tint similar to smoke in the air.

Muh automatic headlights were on and I did not figure it out until I remembered the eclipse. I guess it was enough to activate them.

The sun doesn’t look that way every day Ron….
I was outside blowing out the sprinklers- shadows on the ground did the same thing hollohas posted.
Pretty cool

I started planning this one a year ago? used the eclipse as an excuse for an extended family camping trip in southern Utah. I was lucky to be in the perfect spot for the ring of fire.

Right place, right time, and fully prepared to catch the moment.
One of my favorites sent by a friend.

To bad that's being passed off as a real picture.
That's a total eclipse. The 14th was an annular eclipse where you don't get to see the corona.

Interesting observation.
I will have to chide my friend for sending it to me.

Annular, total....it all comes down to the same thing: One ring to rule them all.
