Vista Outdoors Sells Ammunition Companies To CSG In $1.91 Billion Deal - The Loadout Blog (https://theloadoutblog.com/2023/10/17/vista-outdoors-sells-ammunition-companies-to-cz-group-in-1-91-billion-deal/#:~:text=In%20a%20stunning%20deal%2C%20American%20 outdoor%20conglomerate%20Vista,which%20are%20Feder al%2C%20Speer%2C%20CCI%2C%20Hevi-Shot%2C%20and%20Remington.)

That's Federal, CCI, Speer, Remington and Hevi-Shot. 3 of the 4 American made primer companies, and I'm guessing a huge percentage of the American ammo production market now owned offshore.

They own Fiocchi, which I suppose is encouraging, since there is some Fiocchi production in the U.S. (Missouri and Arkansas)

So long as production remains here in the U.S., this isn't the worse scenario, but it still isn't particularly good either.

There is a new run on ammunition developing; shortages and 20-30% prices increases are expected. Not sure what the ownership passing to CSG will mean, but one good thing is that at least they are focused on the firearms industry and not their social media score like Nikon, and Vista Outdoor.

The part of this that is troubling to me is that there is a lot of ChiCom money in the Czech group (to the best of my understanding)
The good part is firearms are a strong industry in Czechoslovakia.

Nothing good will come from this.

Olin/Winchester to the rescue? Vista has been shorting the market since 2020 to jack prices up. If you look at their earnings report it claims they are losing money. I’m on the fence because they obviously have bad management, maybe this will help supply shortages of ammo and primer’s.

Vista has been divesting themselves of all firearms related companies since the Moms went after them and REI dropped them for making ARs after the Parkland shooting.

Better off having their firearms companies supported by groups that actually want to make firearms and ammo.

Visited the very nice CZ store in Prague. Plenty of product including Colt. Czechs take gun ownership seriously. Easy to obtain a firearm- get a form signed by LE and good to go for SBR, pistol, etc.

Czechs have been through quite a bite in the last 100 years: freedom, 1938 Munich (gee, thanks England), German invasion, Soviet occupation, and freedom. Visiting the final stand church and the Anthropoid assassination site, where that motherless Nazi prick Heydrich was whacked, makes you really appreciate freedom and the 2nd Amendment.

Italy is another European destination that surprisingly enjoys their firearms and is making things difficult for rabid anti-gunners. Lets hope other countries join in.

Fiocchi makes great ammo, comparable to Federal.
