Notice they give no detail of the individual other than he was 22.
"22 year old male from Carbondale." I reckon his recent browser history will be interesting. Lots of isolated unstable young people becoming "radicalized" by people they meet through online forums. Expect to see more cases like this.
Suicide according to the sheriff.

I don't give much creedence to the sheriff or the media. A lot less attention to a suicide in this type of case. Weird is the new normal. I should be on a warm beach.

The term "Amusement Park" is a stretch, but gathers headlines and attention. I believe there is a swingy thing and an alpine slide type of attraction up there. Also, don't you have to take a gondola to get up there from the parking lot? He had to stand out a bit looking based on what he was wearing, and also the armaments. Something is not adding up with the information reported.

So 20 years old, so couldn’t buy a handgun, so that explains why someone with out a record would, outside of the crafting, make a self-made firearm.
Almost sounds like a :”Stranger Things” with there being a time-space portal ‘cave’ there- what better place to hide it than an amusement park…
