I was reading the October 1956 issue of Argosy Magazine.

Elmer Keith has an article about hunting but I was more intrigued buy the ads.

I'd love to get a new Marlin 336 in .35 Remington for less than $70!

That magazine didn't happen to have any ammunition ads did it?

I'd like to find an old rifle ammo ad for a project I plan to work on.

I don?t think I have them anymore but I had a small stack of Shotgun News from the late 80?s and early 90?s that were always fun to browse through.

While things like the Marlins and Rugers above might have been a little pricier than they were in the 50?s, there were tons of surplus and Cold War imports really cheap.
