View Full Version : Gas prices I-25 & Firestone/Longmont exit
What gives with the 50-60 cents/gal change from morning to evening, and day-to-day?
1.99 at the P66 this morning, 2.14 or 2.15 at the others. Was 2.59 to 2.69 just the other day around sunset.
While not as volatile, there have also been significant changes at the CO52 exit and Dacano.
It's their gas war. There have been articles about it in the news. When they are running low, they up their prices so they don't run out. QT, when they came in, started it. The QT down south, I-25 & Arapahoe has started a little gas war down there.
Oil futures are dancing with $70 dollars a barrel today too.
$2.19 ar SAMs Club in Lone Tree.

That off-ramp always has the lowest prices- has for years. Everytime I drive by I top off the gas tank.

I inetntionally void it like the plagues. I will go a half mile east to avoid the insanity... a little more $$ but not much.
And the gas wars there are for 85 octane. All other fuel is cheaper a half mile east at Maverick.
Honestly the falling prices of gas at Christmas time have me worried a bit.

Just wait till Buc-ees opens up that way, gas prices will drop through the floor until they run everyone else out of business.

Must be an election year.
I’m not falling for it.
There is always a hidden gotcha.

This comment has piqued my curiosity. Would you expand on what you mean?
Falling dollar aka inflation would lead me to believe we should be closer to $4 a gallon. I?m not complaining but the low prices may signal a glut of fuel. Everyone is back to driving, and it?s winter so there should be plenty of demand for fuel/energy. And last time the price of a barrel of oil was in 70-100 range pump prices were in the high $3s and minimum wage was half of what it is now. I know fuel prices are somewhat elastic but this just seems off.
I yield the floor to more informed people who can hopefully show me that I?m wrong.

In some part of the world, We reached peak gas consumption last summer instead of 2030…. China’s economy is in free fall and importing cheap Russian oil… So is India. Production is catching up here in the us, with the most drilling permits issued for a while, leading the saudis to panic and announce a new round of cuts for early next year, which won’t do much to their bottom line since that won’t still lead to price increases…. Now, the distributor here in the us are going to fabricate some type of refinery outage to justify some spikes, but we should see cheap prices for a while.
1.99 again today, no line at 615am
