Anyone know if this can be done, and who I might be able to call? Or is this something I can do myself?

Many people want to go the other direction- digital to mechanical.

Yeah after doing some research think it?s not a bad call. Mechanical less ways to fail and ?hack? probably. Plus you know EMP proof lol

That’s why I was asking.

Yhea, if I had a digital lock I'd be trading with you in a heartbeat!

Get a Securam lock. Digital with dial backup. I got one a while back when the mechanical lock on my Liberty safe failed. YEP, the mechanical dial lock failed. Confirmed by Opie when he came out to swap the locks.

Another vote for the digital/dial Safelogic Xtreme (https://securamsys.com/products/safelogic-xtreme-emp-proof).

My safe has an S&G brand lock on it. I found out the dial lock and the digital locks both use the same mounting points. When I changed from one style the other it was a simple screw on change.
There is a lot of information on the internet as well as the hardware to do it.

If you don't mind, was there a reason given for the failure and how old was the safe?
Mine are s&g dials that are 20+years old and so far, so good.

Yep... I had a dial lock fail, too. They aren't perfect. I have a Liberty with an electronic lock and it occasionally will fail to open...but a second try works. Those SafeLogic Extreme locks look like a good, but very expensive, solution.

Safe was about 6yrs old when the S&G mechanical quit working The failure was, it simply wasn?t accepting the correct combo. It was like I was using the wrong combo or doing it wrong. I was not. It would take about 6 tries before it would work. Never did diagnose what the issue was. Just decided to swap it out as it wasn?t reliable and was very annoying.
