I've seen a few of these before, they are just shooting blanks for the most part but they are close enough to the ballons that it's all they need.

The horsemanship is really the show more so than any of the shooting.

Yhea, I think it's even less than blanks. Like a loose piece of flash paper holding in the powder.

The ejected burning powder is what pops the balloon.

The one thing I miss about Denver (Fort Worth as well) is the Stock Show. Never saw the cowboy shoots. Always enjoyed the livestock exhibitions and herding dog competitions.

I think this is the first year for the shoots.

Me, until COVID, I never missed the draft horse weekend.
