Who Ya Got?

I was looking at the list of nominees with eager anticipation, and realize that I have no idea what the hell is going on with popular culture.

The list of celebrities is almost unknown to me, as well as the television shows I've never seen, movies I've never heard of, and the most of the 45 categories, including "competition contestant of the year", seem made up.

However, I do hope "Seven," Jung Kook Feat. Latto wins "Collaboration Song of the Year".

It's an obvious choice.

Of course it’s an obvious choice, who the fuck else would it be?

I thought the elites had a problem with the people being able to have a choice?

They only have a problem when the votes are on things that matter. The people can vote in the circus of entertainment all they want. What will it matter?

[Read the following with an uppity John Houseman* accent]

What will it matter? Surely you jest old boy. It starts with one or two people believing they have a choice in their entertainment options. Then more will follow - but with grander illusions of the power to decide things for themselves. The next thing you know the rabble will start demanding choices over the things only we "elite" should be deciding. Anarchy and chaos! I say we squash this peasant uprising here at the start, before it can take root.

* For those of you too young, or who just don't remember John Houseman, here's a commercial he did for an investment firm in the mod 80's:
