Holy smokes there's a lot to take in. Walked about 5 miles today, saw maybe 10 percent of the show. Sensory overload.

2nd Floor at he Venetian is tomorrow's objective. I'm pretty sure that's where most of the major manufacturers are set up. We stopped in there briefly today to talk to some distributor reps. Lipsey's has some interesting exclusives from Colt and Smith & Wesson coming out.

It's a lot. Last time I was there (2019) I had a pretty tight schedule with meetings and products that I was supposed to be looking at. Not a lot of time for fun. Magpul and Glock both throw great parties if you can wrangle an invite.

Pound vitamin C and D, and take some zinc and magnesium to help your body fight off the SHOT crud.

Moderately impressed with the S&W 1854 lever guns, apparently only available in .44 Mag right now, but .357 and .45 Long Colt in the pipeline for later this year.

STP 2011s from Germany are VERY nice, with an equally impressive (not in a good way) price tag. Best out of the box trigger I've ever felt, but start at about $4600...C'mon Powerball!

I have been to SHOT Show three times in the past. The first time I screwed around too much and only observed and traversed about 25% of the show. The second time I went I was determined to at least walk up and down every single aisle. I achieved that goal but it did take me three days to get it done. That was a crazy amount of non-stop walking over those three days. The third time I decided to pick specific vendors to visit each day and spend a good amount of time in their booth looking at stuff. This was much more enjoyable but did leave me with a feeling that I was missing out on something I didn't get to see. That being said, the vast majority of the products I seen were really nothing unique or newly launched at the SHOT Show. 99% of the stuff you could see back at home by walking into your local gun store.

All three times I went, I got SUPER SICK right after when I got home. Getting the "Convention Crud" is a valid concern and happens to most who attend. Cramming a bunch of people into the same place with everyone flapping their gums and touching everything is a perfect recipe for sickness.

If you are just a normal consumer the SHOT Show isn't really worth attending. If you are a Firearms Manufacturer, Distributor, or Retailer then its worth while to build business relationships.

Pretty much agree 100% with what Cha-Lee said. I've been several times as a normal consumer and it can seem like you are seeing the same ol shit, different label on a lot of the stuff. Some stands out. Best to make a plan to see certain booths, make an agenda. The years I have done that, it has been more enjoyable. Things I have purchased at SHOT. Xproducts flamethrower, Salient Arms GLD shotgun, Pard night vision scope, Grand Power Stribog (actually, was the first person in the U.S to own one that was not a demo or loaner from Grand Power. Helps to have connections. LOL!), got several free pair of Battle Briefs from Tactical Distributors as long as I did a review of them on social media. Turns out, I did a funny video, sent it to them, and they used it on their social media and sent me a big box of stuff for my efforts. It's really nice being able to see stuff that local dealers don't carry so you can see it looks/feels like you were expecting.
The SHOT show crud can be a pretty bad sickness. Last year a bunch of people from the group I was with came back and thought they were going to croak. It's a fun experience.

Yeah, we had/have a plan. Total sensory overload otherwise. Been talking with distributor reps, putting faces to names, establishing new relationships. And looking at the toys. Hopefully I don't get the crud.

I am certain Smith will build a lever gun in .500 Magnum. They will sell thousands of them at $1200.

There is currently only one company making them and they retail at $4500.

357 PLEASE!!!!!

I agree, would love to see some nice .38/.357 lever guns to go with my pistols.

NOTE: Just went to the S&W and Ruger web sites to look at their new lever guns.

All I can say is ..... [Puke] I don't like this trend of taking lever guns and trying to make them "tacti-cool."

Yes, I know plastic is cheaper, but good grief, those things are uglier than Janet Reno in a string bikini.

Agreed, it's against the laws of nature. They do also have them in a more traditional form factor, blued or stainless, with either wood or laminate furniture. The stainless with laminate looks like a good guide gun in .44.

Returned from Shot Show late last night and drove down from DIA into a snowstorm!
Big change from walking all around Las Vegas at night in a T-shirt!

Noted that there wasn't much for ammo at the show.

Got home about 1900 last night. 40 miles walking in 3 1/2 days. Sorting through the swag bag this morning. Found some cool products, including https://coolfiretrainer.com/. Essentially a dry fire trainer(with or without optional laser) with your personal weapon, that will cycle the slide for simulated recoil. Also resets the trigger, eliminating the learning of bad habits with most laser trainers, like racking the slide after every shot.

I?ve been a total of 9 times. First time I went I got SHOT AIDS, sicker than a dog when I got home for about 4 days iirc. I learned after that- invest in a box of ?EmergenC? supplements. Stack that shit twice a day for 10-14 days prior, during and a few days after.
I?ve been able to survive since without getting anything worse than a couple of days of the sniffles a couple of times.

SHOT!
VEGAS!

I spoke to their development rep about .460 or .500. He said it's definitely on the radar, but they need a bigger action for that for reliability. Same with .444 and .45-70.
