How did the happen- I thought the dorms were a GFZ per the student handbook?

Anyway, sounds like a murder-suicide to me.

Interesting- I guess officials are saying it was NOT a murder-suicide.

How could they say so quickly say there was no threat to the public?

The agenda, it doesn't fit their agenda.

Lovers triangle or drug deal/debt would be my guess.

"The female was identified as 26-year-old Celie (See-Lee) Rain Montgomery of Pueblo, Colorado. The male was identified as 24-year-old Samuel Knopp of Parker, Colorado."

Love triangle.

Another thought...

"Police say Samual Knopp was a currently a registered student at UCCS..."

Who still lives in the dorms at age 24?

Who lives in a dorm at 24? Who knows, probably someone trying to save some money or at least put that expense on a loan.

Otherwise I would bet on the triangle.thing as well.

Guess we need to wait until the next court date, the 23rd, before details in the affidavit may possibly be released. The suspect was also a dorm resident, roommate of Knopp.

Back in my day rarely someone over Sophomore stayed in the dorm. Off campus was cheaper and allowed you to actually grow up so you could deal with life after graduation.

But that was almost a half century ago... :)

Looks like the deceased experienced acute failure of the roommate selection process.

And, in one of the very few instances, we get a "why".

From KOAA, "The third roommate told police there had been an argument between Knopp and Jordan over a bag of trash that Knopp placed near Jordan's door in January. It was then police said Jordan threatened to kill Knopp if he had asked him to take out the trash again. Detectives said the argument was confirmed by UCCS Police and Housing documents."

Well that’s certainly a reason to kill . Hope the pos is found guilty and goes away for the rest of his life.

If only today's justice system always worked that way.

"The roommate told investigators that he and Knopp had to report Jordan multiple times for unsafe living conditions and smoking in the room, which school records confirmed, the affidavit says."

"The roommate said that he and Knopp believed Jordan had recently vacated his room in the pod following a significant number of complaints about Jordan smoking marijuana and cigarettes and the cleanliness of his living area."

So why didn't the school do anything about it?

I have a guess...

"Prosecutors on Friday also revealed that Jordan, 25, had a fully loaded, AK-47-style assault rifle and a handgun in his car when he was taken into custody on Monday."

^^ Yep! ^^
I would expect to see some legal actions from the victim's families. On the other hand, would you ever choose this guy to be a roommate?

From what I have read, he wasn't a roommate as most think. The floors of the dorm are divided into "pods" which are several rooms adjoining a common area. Thus the multiple complaints about him leaving trash outside his door and smoking out the others in the same pod.

I am guessing the pod-mates don't get to choose their neighbors.
