Thoughts?
The off-duty TABC guy in the suit had the correct mentality, just needed more range time at extended distances. Most of the other unforms seem to coming from the Uvalde Training School.

Wow, that is a lot to process. The bald off duty officer in the suit took charge and neutralized the shooter. Several other uniformed officers hid under cover and may want to reconsider their current profession. I hope her son pulls thru, but while he was still breathing in the video, it didn't sound good based on the radio traffic.

Yup- that's the TABC guy.
Unfortunately, from other reports, the kid is now pretty much just a functioning brain stem. It's not indicated who hit him.

Nothing in that video that I could see makes me feel warm and fuzzy about the current state of law enforcement. It seems the warrior mentality is a thing of the past...not just in LE but in our society in general.
What does blue, blue blue and 3700 mean?

We're in an age of LE being what i call hires and sjw's. Hired for gender, skin tone, box needed to be checked. Not for experience, or actually wanting to be in law enforcement.
It doesn't seem to be a generational thing, anymore. Our daughter, nieces & nephews , unless their kids decide to go into LE. Are the last generation for our family as LE's, dating back to the early 1900's. Sadly with the state of affairs in LE, depending where in the country you live, i hope they don't.

Dude even screamed over and over that he was 'hit'.

Back on topic.
I appreciate videos like these as learning opportunities. I'm on a church security team and we discuss every incident that gets publicized. Something can be learned from each incident.

Yes. Embarrassing.
What does blue, blue blue and 3700 mean?
Codes tend to be agency specific.
Shouting "blue" repeatedly is an indicator that officers were in the field of fire as a warning to hold fire to prevent officers from being shot.
No idea what "3700" means.
Lower right corner of video is watermarked "Police Activity".

I saw that. There are so many disturbing videos of just downright indefensible behavior by officers these days. I saw some pretty dumb stuff back in my cop days but nothing that even remotely approached what we're seeing today. I just watched a video (also from Houston) of two female PD officers mag dump into an apartment where there was no crime. It was on Donut Operator's YT channel.
2 female officers on scene for unrelated call. They're approached and told there's a broken window at another apartment and possibly a burglary there. They go to apt and see broken window. They knock on the door, announce and back off a bit. One sees a female walking to the door with a handgun. Both officers mag dump into the apartment just at the sight of the gun. Not just one mag, either. One of the officers nearly (or does) empties all 3 magazines into the apartment. Lady inside is alone and is struck numerous times but survives. She was staying in the apartment, that belonged to her friend (who wasn't there), and forgot or lost her keys. She broke the window to get inside. Presumably had the gun for protection (because Houston) and couldn't/didn't see who was at the door.
This is exactly the type of law enforcement I told people they were gonna get over 25 years ago when this leftist shit started creeping into the profession. Now they have it. Unfortunately, we have it, too. Defund, wokeism, war on police in general...I don't blame anyone for not wanting to go into the career. Last LE job I had in a metro-Denver department had 5 openings when I applied in 1997 and had over 800 applicants. Now some departments have many hundreds of openings and just a handful of applicants.

In this case, 3700 is the address of the church. (https://www.houstontx.gov/police/nr/2024/feb/nr240212-6.htm)
