As Denver faces a budget crisis due to 40,000 illegal immigrants arriving in the last year, the city is warning hourly workers that they may be furloughed, while also considering hiring illegal immigrants to work for the city, The Daily Wire has learned.
I am glad I am not a resident of Denver, City & County of.
I would probably be welding plates onto a bulldozer by now.....

I kind of like the plan.
First, you get rid of the overpaid government workers and replace them for pennies on the dollar with illegal immigrants.
Soon after the government will realize that moving their entire operation to Mexico is more cost effective and maybe government and politicians as a whole will vacate and move to Mexico leaving their constituents to govern themselves.

How many have ties to the cartels? Is this their way to infiltrate? Do we have complete access to criminal records from across the border?
I keep reading pretty young women are being killed by illegal immigrants from south of the border. This is going to bring a social upheaval.
No need to do any kind of work history or, as mentioned, criminal background check. You guys are just fear mongers!
What could possibly go wrong?

That boiler plate thing was awesome once, perhaps the 2.0 version could surpass the original coolness.

That worked out so well with the RTD bus drivers.
Busses road raging motorists downtown and driving the wrong way on the freeway, lol.
I hope they go ahead with this plan. The lazy government employees deserve a break. Maybe this will piss off the citizens of Denver enough to make some changes next time they vote. Doubt it but one can only hope.
might as well go all California and get a few illegals on the city board too, ya know, to help make decisions about what to do with more illegals.
Not sure how Boulder has managed to dodge any mass influx of illegals with their Sanctuary City status.. Someone needs to send a few dozen buses up 36.
They haven't dodged anything.
They are paying more at the pump, or for a cheesburger, just like us.
Their portion of our debt, is the same as ours.
They just think this is fine, when it's not fine.

The only issue I have with that is the direct impact it has on the safety of my family. I have two kids at BHS, my wife works in town, and we patronize the local grocery stores, gas stations, etc. In addition, more people of such "caliber" just increases the chance of a foothills conflagration from idiotic entitlement usage of "warming" fires as they push into the open space.
From that regard, Denver can keep them...

Easy. They dump all their poors in Longmont

What happened to deportation? DHS and ICE can't handle it? Not even FEMA camps? The entire administration is a disgrace.
Ultimately Scammed Again!

This is actually a legitimate scenario for rapid deployment of FEMA assistance... either set up trailers and tents in an unpopulated area, or transport them to an existing camp. Very confused why they decided to rent out entire hotels out of the Denver budget, which practically bankrupted us in January. This should be a federal issue with federal assistance, and people here illegally should not enjoy the same rights and privileges as citizens.
Under Trump, Mexico agreed to house and care for these people while their asylum paperwork was processing... then Biden cancelled that agreement and just opened the border. This was preplanned and deliberate and makes absolutely no sense aside from creating a crisis.

Can't deport someone once an I-589 is filed. They are no longer here illegally.
If the review takes longer than 180 days, they can apply for an employment authorization document (EAD).
