The Wait Begins...

Well, just sent in my payment for my Garand. Went with the SA service grade. Now, I have to wait...guess that means accessory shopping!

Supposably people are getting very nice rifles from that condition. I have also heard the wait is not very long.

I ordered a Service Grade and a Collector Grade in Feb 09, received the SG in July 09 and the CG about 3 weeks later.

The SG was in VERY nice condition. The CG looks unissued. Both were Korean War vintage.

Yea, I've been hearing and seeing photos of some incredible rifles. I heard, though I can't confirm, that with the shipment they got in from Greece, there were more than 300 un-issued Garands. That word came from my gunsmith. He also said that a large number were essentially unissued, but because the foil wrapper came off of the muzzle and sights in shipment, they couldn't be called un-issued. I thought that he said that those rifles would be sold as service grade. Guess we'll see!

I haven't yet, but my paperwork came for my membership at Frontier Sportsmans club, and I will definately be looking into them.

It's here! Less then a month!
Better then I had dare hope for. Beautiful dark stained stock, metal is in great shape, the sock has a couple of very small dings, just enough for character, I’m soooooo much in love! I had to jump into the manual of arms (what little I still remember) Pics to follow once I get it cleaned up.
