Recommendation for Gunsmith to remove internal lock from a couple of S&W J-frames

I have a couple of S&W airweight J-frames that I'd like to have the internal lock removed, but I don't feel comfortable doing it myself.

Any recommendations for a Gunsmith in the Denver Metro area to perform that work?

Bowers tactical would be someone I'd trust. However there's more than likely a step by step video on how. It's not complicated.

As a smith I can say most unfortunately are not willing to do it for money as the liability anymore. They are not hard to do though

Disabling a factory safety mechanism is inviting headaches

As an alternative, S&W still makes models without the internal lock.

Might just be better off in the long run to sell the ones with the locks and put that money towards ones without them.

Yeah most of the pro series or performance center Jframes don?t have them, and they still stock a SKU of 442s with out them.

while I understand the reasoning behind removing the lock, potential reliability, Ive had to ask myself is a third party safety delete kit more reliable/unreliable than a factory installed lock?

I think any reliability issues related to the lock are fabricated or at least exaggerated and blown out of proportion.

My detest of the lock is mostly about principle of the matter and aesthetics more than anything so I just refuse to buy them and will gladly buy older models made before the lock instead.
