SBRing a foreign made import rifle - does ATF care?

Thinking of filing a Form 1 for an imported rifle. Does it make any difference for ATF or is it as easy as a domestic rifle?

I SBR'd a Romanian AK, form 1 was no different.
I also did an MKE AP5 when ATF was doing them for free, it was a very fast turn around.

If i recall correctly doesn't it exempt you from 922(r)?

If you a are SBR'ing a "rifle", should the rifle should of already be 922 compliant?

None. Since the imported rifle had to be 922 compliant before being signed off to ship to distributors.

I inferred from Wolf's comment that the SBR no longer needs to be 922(r) compliant, even though the original rifle was.

Magazine components can be used as 922r compliance. If you're being strict, you could then use imported mags also.

It is my understanding that 922r does not apply to NFA items. Though it may only be MG's
