We moved from Littleton to SW Pueblo in November. So far we love it here. Not perfect, but no place is.

We are on the extreme SW edge of Pueblo, basically all the land behind us is undeveloped land. Our backyard has great views of Pikes Peak and the front range.

We also seem to be on the direct flight path between Butts Army Airfield at Fort Carson and the Pinon Canyon Training center SE of Pueblo because it seems like we've had dozens of Army helicopters flying over pretty much every day during the week last week (there must have been a big exercise going on.) Mostly it's CH-47 (Chinooks) and Blackhawks but we've also seen quite a few AH-64 Apache attack helicopters flying over. In fact, two of them flew over just a couple of hours ago.

I told my wife the last time I had this many Apache helicopters flying over me was when I was stationed at Fort Bragg in the 90's. Makes it feel like "home" to me!

I send Buckley Space Base regular "can't you just let the afterburners fly, once you pass Denver?"

To date, they still let the afterburners fly.

Sets off my truck alarm, etc.

Like this? The Army aviators will buzz my house in a practice run. I have seen gunships hovering over police operations. I still prefer rockets. I can't wait to leave this planet.

I built homes for a big builder on the west side of the main runway at Buckley many years ago. It was loud when those F-16's did a sandbox departure, I really liked it. They did what they could for noise abatement, double drywall & extra insulation on East facing walls AND ROOF! Better windows etc. They ended up including AC so the windows could stay closed in the summer. I think they blew thier budget and stopped building around there.
I remember they had a big Home Giveaway, contestants won a key at various KYGO events, maybe 50 keys were given out but only one opened the door to the home. Lots of people, catered by Bennetts BBQ and KYGO live broadcast. The day started sunny but it was heavily overcast by the time the final contestants were getting ready to try their keys. No rain, just low dark clouds. Then 2 F-18's went screeching low and slow right over the BBQ tent while turning for a landing headed North! That was an experience!

I had never seen so many military aircraft until I moved to Tucson (Davis Monthan), took some getting used to, but now it?s just plain cool. I moved north of the metro area so I don?t see as much, but still cool.

I did see a launch of one of the Delta IV mediums - impressive

For noise - dang those Osprey configured for slow and go.

and JATO equipped aircraft getting a little bit of an assist.

I ran into a guy at Home Depot today and struck up a conversation due to his SAC veteran ballcap, we talked about Aircraft! He was stationed (Intel) at SAC Omaha and related a story when the RCAF flew their last 5 Avro Vulcan bombers out of SAC during an annual airshow, not sure of the date. He said the 5 of them did somewhat of an airshow for a while flying in formation. Then, they broke off and one screamed off on its own doing a roll! I do need to verify the story, but pretty cool.
