It's been spotty a lot, recently.
Here I am at work, trying to run background checks and I cannot reach the damn web site.
I have tried three different browsers and it looks like it's not me, it's them...
Anyone else having problems?

Good morning.
The CBI wants to inform you of our awareness of the outage of CCIC/NCIC. We are diligently working to restore service and will keep you updated on our progress. Restoring this system is our highest priority. Dealers will not be able to submit checks until the system is restored. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience this is causing.

I ordered a lower, did the BGC last Wednesday so 3 days was up over the weekend. However because the system is down I can't pick it up today. Makes no sense.

If the store didn't retrieve & print out your approval in advance, maybe...

So did I get the firearm now because they can't do the background check in a timely manner? Wasn't there a time period?

So did I get the firearm now because they can't do the background check in a timely manner? Wasn't there a time period?Maybe you're getting confused by all the silly laws:
In Colorado, the waiting period is the later in time of 3 days after the initiation of a required background check of the purchaser or when the purchase is approved following any background check.
Federal: Under the National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS), a dealer may transfer a firearm to a prospective purchaser as soon as he or she passes a background check. Generally,?if the FBI is unable to complete a background check within three business days, the dealer may complete the transfer by default.

Regardless, there has to be an approval, no matter how long it takes.

I was referring to the Federal law. Just frustrating.

Still down today. Curious if anyone knows anything.
It's really quite simple:
Step 1: Require a background check to complete before a firearm transfer can be completed.
Step 2: Don't do background checks.

The Colorado Crime Information Center (CCIC) system continues to be unavailable for use as a result of a power outage that damaged equipment at a state data center. Multiple teams from the Colorado Bureau of Investigation (CBI), and the state Office of Information Technology (OIT) are working around the clock to migrate information from the current system to a new system. While progress is being made, we still do not have a timeline for this new system to be active. Updates will be provided as they become available.
Up and running again at least the LE side, I would assume background checks are running again too

Yes, we're up and running since yesterday.
A few more issues this morning but it's good now.
