What to do with R700 action?

Very soon I?m going to have a spare Remington 700 short action with a .308 bolt face. I need some inspiration on what to do with it.

I have a .223 AI that will be my daily driver for local matches and long range plinking. I also have a Dasher that?s absolutely outstanding that I run in bigger matches. Finally, I have a .260 that hammers, but that I virtually never shoot. It?s basically a loaner if I bring someone new to a match.

As I see it, there?s nothing left to want as far as competition rifles. Maybe I?m missing something.

I don?t hunt, but have aspirations to do so at some point. I could build a hunting rifle, I suppose. I have a hankering for a shorty .308, but when I really think about it, I can?t figure out when I?d ever shoot it.

What would YOU do with it?

I'd make a large game rifle out of it. Living in the mountains, you can always hunt deer, elk,etc. I remember when a few years ago the local grocery store was devoid of meat in the butcher section.

I went through the same thing and ended up with a similar rifle I?m really happy with! Trued Remington 700 short action, Xylo chassis, Timney trigger, SAS Covert Suppressor. I haven?t loaded any subs yet but plan to this winter!
