Stuck Case - Recommendations

Well, I had a cartridge separate and the remainder is stuck in the chamber.

ETA: .223

Maybe a rough reamer to bore out the bulk of the brass? Heat the chamber and rapidly cool it?

Suggestions are welcome.

There are specific stuck case removal tools on the market, but without knowing what the cases stuck in, makes it hard to make a suggestion on what tool.

A 45 caliber bore brush jammed in the rear of the case and then pulled out fast will normally work. Thats assuming 308 sized case. 9mm works for 223 sized brass.

Again.......... without knowing the details.......... with a 5.56 stuck partial case, I just take another case/cartridge and attempt to chamber it. It will "drag" the partial back out as I extract it.

There’s a thing called a broken case extractor. They work goodly.

If it fits, it fits. Otherwise you can use any of the aforementioned, or an appropriately sized lag bolt and carefully thread it into the broken case in the chamber, then extract it.

Or try any of the other suggestions here.

Got it. Used a 8mm tap, threaded into case from chamber end, tapped out from crown-end with cleaning rod.
