Stainless steel weld

Curious if anyone has the ability to weld stainless steel. I have a brand new dishwasher that I picked up from a jobsite. I was told it had a leak but the general contractor didn't want to take the effort to locate the leak and just replaced the unit. I have had this in my shed for several years now. I got around to looking at it this weekend. There is a small split (maybe 2") in the stainless tub where the metal was stamped. Probably an easy fix. Would love to install it in my kitchen but don't want any potential leaks in the future so the weld would probably need to be rust/corrosion resistant. Would hate to toss it in the trash. Brand new. I wouldn't mind paying a bit or trading some ammo.

I could always use some "Flex Seal" that loudmouth Phil Swift advertises on TV. That shit fixes everything!

You need it TIG welded. I can likely do it if you strip it down.

I was in a guy's shop the other day that can, although I don't know if he will.

They do amazing work. Custom cabinetry for very high-end residential kitchens along with other industrial things. Huge shop and the ability to create anything you can imagine and likely things you can't.

I don't know if they are willing to do a 10 minute job like that, but it might be worth asking them. Especially if you could bring them the tub or whatever you call it so all they have to do is run a bead.

You need it TIG welded. I can likely do it if you strip it down.

I may have had this guy weld up some stainless for me once. He does very nice work.

I would be interested to hear of your results if you get it welded successfully, or not. Guessing the crack is in the stainless tub where welding the thin gauge of the stainless may be a challenge. You sure don't want a dishwasher tub leak.

FWIW, I've used All Metals Welding in Grand Junction for more than 30 years for my farm and personal equipment. The work they do on all metal types is absolutely beautiful. They recently repaired, welded, some cracks on a cast iron bench I bought. Just superb.

I appreciate everyone's response. I didn't think about having to strip down the machine to weld. I assume to protect the electrical components. Probably a little too much effort with unsure results. Now I feel foolish for hanging onto this for years without looking at it, I just figured the leak was a loose connection or defective replaceable part. Thanks again to everyone who replied.

JB Weld on both sides of the crack? Hook it up outside of your home and run some cycles through it. If it still leaks, pitch it.
