Voters in North Dakota on Tuesday backed a constitutional amendment that would impose age restrictions on congressional candidates.
The new measure bans people from running for a House or Senate seat in North Dakota "if that person could attain 81 years of age by December 31st of the year immediately preceding the end of the term."
61% of voters on Tuesday approved the measure, while 39% opposed it.
A step in the right direction, although I think term limits are more effective at stopping the career politician model.
If you can collect SS retirement, you are too old to hold office.
But also, a career limit of holding any elected political office at any level of 20 years.
Slackers.
Why just discriminate based off of age? Can?t we eliminate people based off of their gender or race as well?

We have minimum age limits...
Maximum age limits should be a thing, in addition to term limits for all .gov offices.
Term limits would be less discriminatory, and far more effective. Maximum 12 years combined in any elected federal position, then forever barred from lobbying of any kind.
I don't care about a maximum age....
But substitute that for a detailed FMRI scan and I'd be ecstatic.
Weed out the narcissists and sociopaths, and then we might have to force a regular ol' Joe into the whitehouse.
Age is just a number... but a brain isn't subjective. Deny cognitive compromises or personality disorders, and it would be nice.
How about any member of Congress, the Cabinet, or even the POTUS/VPOTUS shall be immediately expelled upon a 75% "no confidence" vote, which can be held at any time... because, "The internet is a series of tubes," lol.

I can support this proposition 100%!

Hmmm. Has potential.

We have term limits, we just choose not to use them.
Tar & feathers have history, just saying...
